I'm with you on the disappointment of not having a glove box light for the Maverick. I decided to mount a small (about the same size as yours) rechargeable LED with touch on/off switch. I applaud you for moving ahead and doing this mod and for posting the how-to's. Here's the light I used for those who aren't so inclined to do the same undertaking as you.
PS: Nice job!

Same ones, but cheaper at $10 for 4

Looks good that's a very useful mod.
Yes and where it is wired in at lets you change the brightness of the light along with the cluster brightness + / - dial. I think lariat's come with an ambient light in a similar spot from the factory.

Honestly they all should cuz it's a black hole in there at night if you don't have the ambient lighting.

Even my 2014 Chevy equinox has a ambient cup holder light and another ambient light shining down from the overhead console over the gear selector just so you can see without fumbling for your cup in the dark.

So do I. I like have both hands free. so I prefer a mounted light.
I think most all of of us keep a flashlight in our trucks/cars etc…
In my choice the light is more for my wife as shes usealy riding shotgun and its much simpler to just open the glove box and the light comes on instead of fumbling for the flashlight in the glove box tooling down the highway…..

Totally agree. Most of us grew up with having factory lighting in the glove box, so not having it is a real inconvenience not to mention the safety factor as you pointed out. I'm a big fan of your mod, but I also know not everyone in the club is as confident and/or handy enough to do what you did . . . so I posted an alternative suggestion.
