Oh, it had a BENCH seat! I'm gonna cry a little...I miss bench seats.
LOL!!!
Yeah I remember bench seats.
My girl would slide right up next to me,
Hip to hip.
I’d reach for the stick shift and miss…..
Or when I put it in fourth gear. :’P

I liked her bare feet up on the dash.

I miss my 1980 F-150 more than any other truck I ever had.

The 1980 Ford F-150 primarily featured the durable 300 cubic inch (4.9L) inline-six engine as a standard powerplant, known for excellent low-end torque. This 7th-generation truck, often dubbed the "Bullnose" (1980–1986), also introduced significant updates like Twin-Traction Beam (TTB) front suspension, with the inline-six serving as a reliable workhorse choice.

Fairmonts were very popular in the Pro Stock class due to their large rear overhang and the ability to move weight to the back. Bob’s car was a consistent winner at the time.

Or as it was known in Michigan.
The Pontiac Azcrack.

I liked the Buick Rendezvous.
The Aztek featured an on-demand AWD system called Versatrak. Unlike traditional 4WD systems that require a lever or button, Versatrak was lightweight and fully automatic. It functioned as a front-wheel-drive vehicle until the sensors detected slippage, at which point it would redirect torque to the rear wheels.

You're preaching to the choir on that one! My 1981 had that inline six and of everything I've ever owned is the one I miss the most.

I wish either GM or Ford would have imported their beautiful car based "trucks" from Australia. Some are absolute hotrods straight from the factory.
Watch Dashcam Australia and you’ll know why we don’t want those things here… they seem to all be owned by nut jobs and teenagers who can hardly get them around a corner without spinning out or crashing.

Saw this article this morning. A few points about it.
1. I miss the Mercury brand.
2. So glad Ford did not trademark the Durango name and let Chrysler have it.
3. I forgot just how ugly the Fairmont/Zephyr models were. But so was most everything in that era.
4. I kind of wish Ford had continued the "Trarck" or "Cruck" product line. Which is kind of what the Maverick is in my opinion.

None of the sheet metal was ever used on a car, so so I don't consider it car based like a Ranchero which was always based on a station wagon and had 2 doors. Maverick is not that. It's a truck, even if it blurs lines it has no car counterpart.

But I'd gladly drive A Ford or Mercury Durango with a Coyote swap! Fox chassis are great.

Whew the Aztec, had to be the second ugliest car, just behind the AMC Pacer imo
I owned a Bicycle Shop when the Aztek first came out. One of the first modern SUV - bought one for my company car.

Would park in street in front of shop. Neighbor came by to thank me when the lease expired and I replaced it with a Vibe.

The old saying "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder". If we all had the same preferences and likes it would probably be a boring thing. I have stuff I love but many call it junk - including my wife  which brings another old saying "One man's junk is another man's treasure"

I guess the same could be said about the nut jobs and teenagers driving Mustangs, Challengers, and especially Chargers in this country. They can't even keep it together driving in a straight line.
