= "Dealer Bullwinkle (Mr Know it All) update of the DAY!"Yes. Dealer told me that batteries are constrained, limiting hybrids that can be scheduled.
Not affordable as long as it requires the use of precious metal in the fuel cell. The requirement to use platinum in the fuel cell drives the cost even higher with demand. Precious metal category increases in price with demand, unlike most manufacturing that benefits from scaling up resulting in cheaper and cheaper prices. Currently a fuel cell alone can cost as much as $50,000. And don't get me started on the logistics of shipping/storing hydrogen, or even creating it as a fuel. One word,
hydrogen fuel cell.
I worked on fuel cells and they are never going to happen in large volumes. The waste freezes and that is not a good thing in Michigan in January. Not to mention the government considers it hazardous. One word,
hydrogen fuel cell.
