Had an odd experience this morning. Getting ready to drive and the sound system was dead. Radio, USB stick, no sound. All controls I could think of were checked and pressed to make sure I didn't bump anything. Volume, mute, source. Nothing. Even removed the flash drive, turned off the truck, opened the door, everything I could think of to hopefully reset the sound system. Nothing. Okay, decided to do my running around and planned to check the fuses when I got back. Stopped to talk to my brother for about ten minutes. Got back in the truck to go back home and the sound was back. What the hell? Is there a circuit breaker I should look for? I'm going to check out the fuse diagram, but I've got to say this was a strange one. Hopefully it's not an intermittent problem. They are the worst to track down. Anyone else out there have this happen?

Updated recently? I read yesterday there is a new update and maybe it was in the update process?

Didn't even think of that going on. It was just strange that everything else seemed to work normally. Just looked at the list of fuses and found two marked as "Amplifier". I was hoping to find a circuit breaker that may have tripped and reset.

That has happened to me in multiple previous vehicles. Chalk it up to computers. Who knows.

Hi there! If you can send over a private message with your VIN and dealership info, I'd be happy to look into this for you.

I get this from time to time. Do a hard reset of the infotainment system by holding down the radio's power button and Seek button until the screen goes black. It will come back up and the sound will work again.
The BIGGEST issue with a lot of new cars is that auto manufacturers don't realize they are now software companies and don't properly fund/manage/develop their software, it's an afterthought.

I've had this issue a couple of times now. Very upsetting. I'll try the hard reset as described next time, but when the bluetooth connection just quits while I'm doing 75 on the freeway, the last thing I want to do is have to fuck with the radio to get it working again. I take it this is not considered a defect worthy of warranty repair? It should be, but is there a permanent fix?

I have had this problem multiple time and a reset was all that fixed it. Feel lucky I had it shoot up to a high volume and freeze. Scared the living daylights outa me.

Good morning! If you would like assistance with this, please send over a private message with your VIN and dealership info. I can look into things on my end.

I took delivery of my XLT Eco Boost in Nov22. I have not had the issue of "intermittent" audio until the last month. I will use the "reset" method, but my question to the OEM is, if this is a known issue, why didn't "all" owners get notification that this is an issue and the fixes communicated?! Is there a SW fix that has been provided to the dealer? Where is the communication to the current owners that this is available?

Hi Lou! I can look into your Maverick's audio concern on my end. To get started, could you please send a private message over with the name/location of your local Ford dealer and your Maverick's VIN?

Mine freezes often. I've only had the truck three or four weeks and it's crashed at least a dozen times. It's by far the worst thing about the Maverick.
