I leave a USB stick plugged into the slot in the lower center dash all the time. It has (actually I should say HAD) 1647 songs on it. Over the past week I noticed the number of song files being shown were fewer than what I had originally loaded on the stick. Something like 90 songs were missing.
This morning, they all disappeared. A message came up on the display that said there were no files on the USB device. WHAT THE HELL?
Plugged the stick into my computer and it listed a file with an extension that made it look like a Word file but it had no data in it. Another file was shown as follows. CTR_Z175002Z_3FTTW8E92NRB04871. I didn't dare open it.
I have had to learn to live with the quirks within this audio system to reduce the annoyance it presents, but having to reload my music files onto the USB stick is total BS. It takes over an hour. I feel I shouldn't have to do that at all.
I'm repeating myself here, but I've found that in order to have the system pick up where it was when the truck was last shut off, I've got to turn off the audio system first. When the truck is started again, I've got to wait for the system to "index" the USB stick before it can be used.
HEY, FORD. IF YOU'RE READING THIS, TAKE NOTE. MY WIFE DRIVES A 2013 ESCAPE WITH AN IDENTICAL USB STICK LEFT IN THE SLOT AND IT ACTS NOTHING LIKE THE 2022 MAVERICK. NO INDEXING. NO GAMES THAT NEED TO BE PLAYED. IT JUST PICKS UP THE MUSIC WHERE IT LEFT OFF. SAME SOURCE. SAME SONG. HOW IN ALL HELL DID YOU PEOPLE MANAGE TO PRETTY WELL SCREW UP AN AUDIO SYSTEM THAT WORKED? IF THIS IS HOW MUCH YOU'VE "ADVANCED" THE TECHNOLOGY IN TEN YEARS, I CAN HARDLY WAIT TO SEE WHAT YOU COME WITH NEXT.
