The stock AT tires are the biggest cause, congratulations on getting one on the nicest riding Maverick's you can get. The Tremors take potholes and bumps like there barely there.

Hybrid driven correctly consistently delivers 39 mpg 24-7
At 21k miles I had the 23E09 program powertrain control module performed. Before the average dash mpg usually in 38-40 mpg range. After reprogram and on second tank trip 2 trip screen currently showing 43.1. of course it's a little early to place money on the line but appears to be improved and does drive a little differently.

I don't think it will take 10000km to "break in", get an improvement in fuel economy or get more accurate distance to empty readings. Mine seemed to improve in fuel economy and more consistent readings after 3000 - 4000 km. I don't know how many places the computer picks up information to give the distance to empty, definitely more than the odometer and fuel level. My distance to empty will fluctuate more on the top quarter of tank and then will be consistant for remainder of the tank.
Talking about the Hybrid now, it started at about 750-800 and worked its way up, after 4000km I was consistantly getting distance to empty range of 980 to 1040 km after filling up (first click cutoff). One fillup (Sept) it showed 1020 km to empty, after driving 30km home, the distance to empty was the same 1020 km, Last fill up, the temperature was 2 C (34f) instead of 18c (64f) distance to empty started at 1030km and after driving the 30km home, the distance to empty was 950km
My driving is about 90% rural highway, speed limit 80kmh (50 mph), Only been on a freeway twice.

I’ve been getting 45 to 50 miles per gallon on my hybrid. I only have 1400 miles and then I get a check engine light. It says there’s something wrong with the exhaust gas circulation system. It’s the dealership and I’m waiting to find out what is wrong with it

The 2.0 uses incredible amounts of fuel for the first (say) 5min of operation, while it warms up the cat in order to get pollution down after it gets up to temperature. If your trips are mostly within that warm-up window, then your gas mileage will really suck. It also sucks a lot of fuel in town, when constantly accelerating at low revs causes the ignition to retard a huge amount. Hi-test fuel costs a lot more, but may help in this scenario, so the ignition will not back off as far and allowing it to use fuel better at low rpms. Out on the highway at constant speed, they actually got it right. Ford really needs to get a lot smarter with their pollution and ignition curve settings for real people use instead of just passing stupidly-designed NTSA tests.

Hey, first time posting and owning a maverick. So 2 weeks ago I purchased a 2023 ford maverick XLT with the tremor package, to mainly haul fire wood. Since then I have noticed the gas mileage has been dropping down very quickly. When I fill up it registers at 670 km and my trip home (highway driving) is 80km away (average day is 160km). By the time I arrive home the tank registers at 550km and the l/100km is at 10-10.5L/100km; higher than the highway driving for a maverick being 8.1L/100km. A little background, I have not hauled anything yet in the truck, put in premium gas and no high rev driving (under or level to 2,000 RPM). With how fast I am going through gas, I have to fill up every 2-3days. After speaking with Ford Canada and the dealership they have both informed me to wait until 10,000 km for the truck to balance out on being more gas efficient.

Has anyone had this issue ?
When I drive my AWD ecoboost I average 31 mpg,my wife averages 27 mpg when driving it.

23 Lariat hybrid with soft tonneau cover and 4100 miles. Driving two miles to work along with short highway trips on the weekend. Best mileage to date was 50 mpg. I do tend to drive like an old lady now to maximize my mpg. I have noticed a recent drop now that temps are cooling.
I am glad I didn’t get a hybrid if it makes you drive like a little old lady to get higher mpg.

Yeah I think I did. But It was the only maverick available at the time and I was unfamiliar with the tremor package and the dealer mentioned minor additions that I thought would not affect the mileage. Thank you for the information, this is what I have been looking for.
Not an expert, but I think Tremor is raised by an inch or so for off-roading purposes, so there would be more drag underneath the vehicle at higher speeds.

What in the world does the Tremor have to lose so much MPG. wow 24 hwy is bad rating.
Tremor raises the vehicle for off-roading purposes, so more drag underneath the vehicle at higher speeds.

My first 5 tanks in my 23 AWD EB (~3000km)
  • 25.68MPG - 9.159L/100KM
  • 25.92MPG - 9.075L/100KM
  • 26.88MPG - 8.750L/100KM
  • 28.84MPG - 8.155L/100KM
  • 27.47MPG - 8.562L/100KM
Since then, the best tank I've seen was 32.57 MPG (7.22L/100KM) but that was ALL highway driving with a relatively light load in the back (luggage), and maybe some favorable winds.

So you can see it has improved as the computer tuned it up. But not really sure you can expect 8.1L/100Km with a full load of firewood in the back...

That's about the same mileage I'm getting

Good to see everyone’s Maverick is doing good on fuel, the Tremor will not do as good, as heavier suspension and drive train, but it is a nice truck and hopefully getting better mileage than my 13 yr old full size truck was, only have had about 6 week and only 1200 mi so far, as I’m old and just short driving, , when get out on highway some day , will check mileage for-sure
