Full size spare not the correct size

Spare tires are meant as a temporary fix to get you to a place to get your flat fixed, not run it forever.

Ask any Automotive Engineer if driving with different size tires and wheels on a vehicle is safe. I’m guessing they will tell you “NO”!

Looks like all Mavericks come with two different spare tires:

1. a space saver spare tire, donut, or temporary tire, size T155/70D17
2. If you purchase a hybrid or pay extra for a so called "Full Size Spare" surprise, the size is 215/60R17 . This is not the same as the OEM tire/rim on any Maverick.

Please note, the spare does not have a Ford OEM TPMS factory sensor.

It gives you a standard steel rim instead of a doughnut sized rim. My plan is to hit a local used tire place and find something decent in the correct size.

I run an aggressive 245/65R17 AT (Toyo) and it fits fine.

were you able to sell the spare or store it in the house,,,just curious. I live in apartment

I run a Unique 83 wheel 17x7 from Discount Tire. The donut spare wheel and tire went to their trash/recycling. You might be able to get some money for it, but I didn't want to deal with it.
