On my 2023 Mav XLT, the front USB intermittantly shuts down while using Carplay. Sometimes I can just remove the cable & plug it back in and it sync's up and other times I have to shut the truck off and restart before it comes back to life. I have tried searching for others who have had the same issue and have come up empty. Just wondering if anyone else has had this issue. Not sure if there is something in the latest backup camera code that would address this by chance.

Have you tried different cables from different manufacturers?

It's the cable. Buy a good cable and don't remove it. Leave it for the car.

Yes, different cables have been tried. But here's the thing, if carplay was working for 45 minutes then it decideds to disconnect, would you still consider it to be a cable issue ? Can I find one that is not made in China ?

Mine did the same . Would stop playing while using Carplay. Went and started using an Apple cable all good now.

OK thanks. I will try another Apple branded cable. I read where a dealer wanted the customer to bring his truck in when he had a problem but in my case, if you shut the truck off and restart it the problem goes away, for awhile anyway.

My 2024 Lariat keeps losing Android Auto connection I have tried multiple cables I will take my car in this week and see if they can replace my car. I will never buy another car without after market head unit options. If I have to drive old cars for the rest of my life so be it.

It's unlikely that the dealer will swap your vehicle because you Android Auto is hiccuping.

Also check for foreign objects in the charge port. They can get pocket fuzz and other stuff up there. Power your phone down while cleaning it.

It was a joke read the tread. It isn't a foreign object in the port. I am using the USB A port.

If you have to tell someone it's a joke, then it didn't have enough tread to get traction.

By charge port I was referring to the one in your phone. That's why I said to power it down. 🌹

I was using a Motorola wireless adapter when it started happening and it does the same thing directly plugged to the phone. It seems to be a loose internal connection.

When troubleshooting, always start at the cheapest part. In this case, try a USB cable in place of the wireless. If the problem persists, try a different phone or tablet. If it still persists, call the dealer.
