Probably going to do the tennis ball hanging from the ceiling in the carport...
I agree, there is a learning curve with determining how close the front of the truck is when parking. But with just a little practice, one can learn how close the truck really is to something, when pulling up to it.

In the garage, I just look out the driver's window to my left, at an object in the garage - in my case, a shelving post. When I'm even with that, I know I'm about 1.5 ft from pulling in too far.

All the proximity sensors are nice, but the downside is, they make us too dependent on them. Not unlike phones, which many have become dependent on to remember too many things for us.

This may be slightly off topic but is there some sort of upgrade you could get to have adaptive cruise control added to your truck? I have a 24 XLT Hybrid.

I've owned the Maverick since 1/10/2024 and I still can't judge the Maverick front end placement as accurately as I did on my Nissan Frontier (Which sat about 2 1/2" higher than stock). My wife even more so having moved from her Honda CRV. Probably going to do the tennis ball hanging from the ceiling in the carport for my wife (and by wife, I mean me..).
Or back in using the backup camera! 😁

I didn’t think ACC gives front parking proximity sensors. Been using ACC for the first time on a trip & at a stop light tried rolling right up to the car in front to see if a warning would trigger, just messing around. Didn’t get a warning.

works great on any hybrid because they have an electronic brake booster, which is required for stop & go.

if you don't care about stop & go, then bolting on your own works great on ecoboost non-Lariat also. Lariat ecoboost have the electronic brake booster as well.

I am going to order a low trim / 402A Lobo and bolt on ACC. (And yes, I realize in this linked thread, I posted 2+ years ago that it was crazy to bolt on ACC. So many have done it and not had issues, I'm willing to risk it.)

I assume the Lobo 402A has a vacuum brake booster and I'm fine not having stop & go if that's the case. Because it has different front calipers, though, it could possibly have a different booster. Hopefully someone else does it first, I'd rather learn from them. :D

I've never had rear parking sensors before my Lariat, but I really do like them. Yeah, I wish I had them on the front also. I guess now you can get the front ones on the '25. I calibrated my eyes for the truck by (carefully) pulling up close to my other vehicles at home while leaving extra room until I knew how close they really were.
Kind of funny. Ford included rear parking sensors, in a particular trim level, when you already have a backup camera. They should have put them in the front instead.
.🤔 I don't know about the XL, but the XLT and the Lariat have cameras mounted on the windshield why isn't there a built-in dash cam system?
Be safe.

it's not a dashcam at all.

the resolution is poor and it has specialized software that is looking for lane markers, rate of closure to vehicles and other objects so that it can use automatic emergency braking. AEB is not great, but if you tune it too aggressively, you get false detections for emergency warning and actual braking, which can then cause an accident.

it's funny this post showed up. I was just online yesterday looking at sensors to see if it was possible to rig something up on the front end. I was thinking of either a backup camera or you can buy sensors with auditory alerts. but the camera might be the easiest
Do you have any information regarding the sensors with alerts?

Yep. Same here about inaccurate judging of the Maverick's front end. Relieved I'm not the only one.

Proximity warning sensors are different than the ACC system, but it would be great if the ACC could be tweaked to give you forward visibility for parking and such.
On the Lariat if i'm too close to the vehicle in front of me, my display will show a graphic of my truck with a yellow (caution) road. One time I got distracted when rolling up to stopped traffic and I got a very abrupt warning.

2 things a cheaper '22 FORD Escape Hybrid AWD SE "Sport" had that my '22 Fully loaded Lariat Maverick didn't - Front parking sensors and navigation (newer SYNC).

So I never even thought to check. I just assumed it was a newer vehicle, with a nicer package on the same platform that costs more than the Escapes using the same packages that get those things. My mistake and I'll never overlook that stuff again that's for sure. I made sure to research everything else for months! But never once cared to ask about those two things because I just assumed they were standard with a certain trim. Good ol' FORD...

TBH, it's common practice now days and it sucks. There is a package within a package that disabled a previous package and prevents you from ordering one thing inside another package. Boom.
