I agree, there is a learning curve with determining how close the front of the truck is when parking. But with just a little practice, one can learn how close the truck really is to something, when pulling up to it.Probably going to do the tennis ball hanging from the ceiling in the carport...
In the garage, I just look out the driver's window to my left, at an object in the garage - in my case, a shelving post. When I'm even with that, I know I'm about 1.5 ft from pulling in too far.
All the proximity sensors are nice, but the downside is, they make us too dependent on them. Not unlike phones, which many have become dependent on to remember too many things for us.
