Front Axles Manufacturing Defects

Just took my 23 Mav Hybrid Lariat for oil change at 24K. Mentioned a front end shaking during acceleration that just started a week ago. Tech advisor said "Let's go for a drive". I was thinking it was something minor... He saw what was going on during drive and said "I know what that is." It is most likely your front axles". Said I was at least the 4th he'd seen at that one dealership... He said he was surprised there hadn't been a recall. Sure enough, replacing both front axles this coming week. He did say that Ford is trying to deny as much as they can, especially trucks that had clear body damage. Luckily they saw that both were warped...Any others out there?

I'll see if I can find a young guy to get down there LOL! I'm retired and no longer DO that haha! Doubt if Ford will do it, but will ask. The tech doing the work is getting ready to move to a BUS mechanic job....

Uh yeah.

A simple search would reveal a ton of threads and posts on this issue with CV axles. They usually fail somewhere after 20,000 mi and cause vibration upon accelerating.

Oh yeah, just had my 2022 replaced. My truck has 74000 miles so I guess I'm lucky I made it that long before they went out.

60,000…just had it done. Not under warranty or recall. Doesn’t seem right.

Is anyone willing to share the repair cost?
I've never purchased an extended warranty for a vehicle before, but this one might make sense depending on the repair cost.
Unlikely a recall will be issued unless there are many reports loss of control due to the failure. Recalls generally are issued for defects that result in compromised safety.

60,000…just had it done. Not under warranty or recall. Doesn’t seem right.

Not covered under the 5/Year-60K Drivetrain warranty ?

I'm at 30500 miles, asked my service advisor about the wobble under acceleration earlier this week and haven't heard from her, need an oil change too, thought they'd have gotten back to me by now.

Good luck . Called dealer about an appointment for oil change ( The Works $70) but never received a call back . Just went in this am and had it done with fordpass points ( 3rd one ) . So far so good . 8800 miles in 2 and 3/4 years . average mpg 23 city . have about $25 left in fordpass points .
