I use the Ford pass. I like the useful information such as, mileage, tire pressure and the service records.

No, I did not read the privacy notice.

1. Do you use Fordpass?
2. Have you read its Privacy Policy?
Thanks
Joe
1. No
2. Yes. That is why my answer to #1 is no.

As a matter of fact.

I read the privacy policy and did not agree to it and took it a step further.
I pulled fuse 11/12. Disabling Telecommunications.
There are times when I put my phone in airplane mode, turn it off and put it in the Faraday bag.

I use the Ford Pass app and I have skimmed the T&S. Despite doing my best to be concerned with my data privacy, I do opt to live in somewhat blissful ignorance for this case because I find lots of value in being able to control my car from my phone and my watch.

That said, I do have the Insurance Data option turned off in the truck (if that does anything). 🙃

Yep same here. I own two Fords a Maverick and a Mach-E. For the Mach-E I use my phone as a key and it is SO handy. No more bulky FOB in my pocket cluttering it up Like the Maverick. Walk up to the vehicle it unlocks, walk away from the vehicle it locks all on its own.

Honestly, FordPass and the phone as a key feature has spoiled me so much I don't know if I could go back to carrying a traditional FOB.

Ugh...I do really miss having "auto lock on walk away" on my previous car. My 2014 Chevy had it, don't understand why my 2022 Mav Lariat can't. So far trying to retrain myself to tap the top of the door handle or use the customized Action Button on my phone has proven to be unsuccessful.

You must have missed it.
There are some Mavericks that have the "Walk Away Locking" feature even if the keys are still inside.😁😁

Yep, I love it. No more digging around in my pocket for a FOB. Just walk up to the vehicle open the door, hop in buckle up, press start, and away I go.

Maybe I am getting a bit off topic, but I received an email from Ford trying to sell me an extended warranty because they noticed that my mileage was nearing the cutoff for the base 3yr/30K warranty. So they are for sure using the data to attempt to make more $$. I guess I don’t blame them as they exist to make money, but I really doubt that they aren’t going to use my data in any way they can in order to make a nickel. Hopefully our politicians can stop the sharing of MY data outside of Ford…not holding my breath….

Ford or the dealer actually?

My reminder came from dealer, after I'd already gotten warranty from Granger.
I could see dealer not knowing that.
Ford I'd think would know.

Plus mileage on it giving coupon for 1st oil change based on 3 months, and the mileage they had was decent estimate.
Probably based on mathing out what mileage was when I went in for service on blown out tire earlier.
Work record has date purchased, and current miles - so easy to estimate avg miles.

I’m at about 25,000 miles in 10 months…so it’s no way based on averages. The letter came from Ford, not the dealer. I’ve never had anything done at the dealer except when they came to my house to do a software update.
So…they must be pulling and using my data…to sell something.

Yes and yes. I'm leaving it on till I get my points, then will delete the app and turn it off in settings on the truck. Ford does know and when I asked where my points were they told me I had to turn on sharing with them...

Points, I was wondering about all of that.
Would you be able to point me to a post on the subject?

Thanks,
Joe

You get them through purchasing a new vehicle then you can redeem them toward service, accessories, or parts. You can earn points as well to redeem toward future purchases.
Although you probably won't be interested if you read the TOS and Privacy Policy.....
