If they ship out vehicles without all the options working due to lack of chips, maybe Ford should compensate us some how? I mean the value of the vehicle should be less? Wishful thinking I suppose. And why are the hybid buyers the only ones getting the Fit package?

So, let me get this straight. I sign paperwork committing to a loan for full MSRP and will not be getting what I am paying for, then waiting for an undetermined amount of time until what I have paid for can be used? In the meantime, Ford gets full sale price??

Sounds absolutely wonderful!! I just love Ford’s new sales model!!!
Received this email Thursday. Order for lariat, Hybrid, Lux, 360, confirmed 10/23. Other than order confirmation this is the first contact from Ford. A whole lot of nothing.

AN IMPORTANT UPDATE ABOUT YOUR ORDER
JD,
Thanks again for placing your 2022 Maverick LARIAT order. While we’ve been busy working to get your new vehicle into production, we’ve run into a few delays.
Sometimes certain features or options can lengthen the time before a vehicle is scheduled for production.
We know there’s a lot of anticipation when it comes to getting into a new vehicle, so we’ll make sure to keep you updated. Once your vehicle is ready to move into the production schedule, you’ll be hearing from us again.

Since we all know the chip story applied to the Explorer it's non news. Why else would all of this week's Maverick orders be Lariat trims with Luxury packages. Keeping in mind a lariat Lux has to include the CP360, why are the most complex and chip laden builds scheduled if there's a shortage?

I'm going with an earlier post about components for the Van Dyke Powertrain Center's 94kW electric motor, eCVT transmission or raw materials for the 1.1 Kilowatt-hour Lithium Ion battery.

The Fit package offer was due to the delay on the OKTB for the hybrId.

Simple, highest profit margin.

Anyone know how you can tell if a truck is missing some chips? Appears mine is on the line and I just was able to access the window sticker. Reviewed it a few times and don’t see any credit or indication that it is missing anything.

Yes I heard about that a while back for the Hybrids, but think they should offer it to everyone now and maybe they should try to do something better?

This, the automakers are building out highest profit margin vehicles first right now. When they run out of thoughs parts they will move down trims then suspend / reduce production. I can feel it.

Did @fordvideoguy say the Maverick was going to end up shipping incomplete? That Ford has confirmed that? And that we have “no say” in this?

Surely there will be a way to satisfy those of us who 1)have waited months and 2)will not buy a vehicle that isn’t 100% functional at purchase.

Previous threads made it sound like they were going to start shipping trucks with missing chips…but I’m starting to think that is maybe not the case with the Maverick. I called Ford customer service today and they acted like I was crazed. He confirmed that they had received no such memo internally that they would be shipping incomplete trucks. Guess I will find out in a month.

Seems to me to b a win win for everyone, Ford/Dealers deliver, customers happy. Reduce backlog of product. Product delivered and serviced with the future install of missing silicon/parts.....revenue generator for dealerships too!
If the Lightning uses some of the same chips and the Russian war in Ukraine, it is good they are telling customers it could be a year after customers receive their Maverick.
A long run on sentence that makes no sense.
