Get a fucking clue guys.....
Yeah, we're all disenchanted with those "jumping ahead" through no fault of their own......
Put the blame with those responsible. Ford needs to adjust to the inconsistencies of the current supply model....Don't think we've been through anything like this! I have faith that at some point things will get better.

I'm most likely going to pass if Ford tells me I am going to drive my new truck without all the working parts. Waiting 6 months to get a truck I've already compromised on to try to get it sooner and then be short changed. I can't believe people are ok with this. I guess we shall see what happens with mine when I finally get a build date.
Great so if you get a build date can I have your date? For some of us here we need a vehicle because our current vehicle is or has fallen apart or have no vehicle. So as much as much I have been enjoyed listening to rants about this thread, it’s getting tiresome and repetitive and boring. Take it don’t take it. Ford is trying to build these. So take a breath or walk away from your order.

My Maverick, XLT, Luxury pkg, 360 is scheduled for production the week of 4/11. I'm wondering if it will come completed, or have missing chips?

I hope yours get built before mine since you ordered a week before me and you get all the options working when your truck is ready. I stopped coming to this forum because all it does is cause more frustration. This thread just frustrated me even more.
I took a deep breath. I'm keeping my order, I'm buying the maverick I ordered. Guess I need another month off from this "club".

Ford will sell partially built vehicles awaiting chips or related components that control non-safety critical features, it told dealers today.

Dealers will get the missing chips within 1 year to install on the already-sold vehicles, Ford said.

news story:

DETROIT – Amid an ongoing chip shortage, Ford is reportedly planning to ship and sell vehicles without certain non-critical chips as the automaker deals with a pile of unfinished vehicles.

Automotive News reports that Ford told dealerships on Saturday that they plan to sell vehicles without chips for some non-safety features, with plans to install them in the already-sold cars within a year.

Ford, like other automakers, has been dealing with a shortage of semiconductor microchips, and have a growing inventory of vehicles waiting for chips.

Ford isn’t the first to eliminate some chip-powered features. GM temporarily dropped heated seats in some models earlier this year.
It all depends on Ford commitment on this. I basically agree.

You guys are bumming me out on this thread! Look at the positive, everyone who's been waiting almost a year now for their truck; will now have the opportunity to order a new 2023 model...

is the copilot 360 one of the safety issues?
That's a good question. I just dropped that package because I didn't want the truck to sit half finished for months waiting for chips. CP 360 is not a legally required feature like air bags though.

These are unprecedented times, at least in recent memory. I don't blame Ford for doing this.

You think you got problems??? I put a hundred bucks (and thats was only a weeks gas money back then, so whatever) down on a dealer order in early January. I had not joined here yet and had not heard about all the everything going on. And i modified my order twice, once i found out about the long delays. They said it was no big deal.

Anyway yesterday i finely got confirmation of my order. Guess what? Its the wrong truck, wrong color. Wrong driveline. I havent talked to the dealer yet, waiting for my day off.

I am simply going to talk to the dealer. I can play that hand ,,, but my question will be, and I'm going to be serious... Can you get it now. Can you get it quick enough I dont have to screw with this stupid shif anymore. Both my rangers are needing money i want to spend on a new mav. I got something else to drive now the weather is getting good

Ford Maverick Ford will sell & deliver Mavericks without chips controlling non-safety critical features 20211215_104618

Wow, knowingly driving away from the lot with an incomplete brand new vehicle. Ford is desperate. I think the supply issues are getting worse, not better.
Report: Ford to sell cars without some non-safety related chips, install them later (clickondetroit.com)
This is not really desperate. Back in 2011 when the earthquake and tsunami hit Japan a handful of auto related plants were destroyed and therefore computer related parts were not available such as the functionality of the rear view camera in many Audis and other brands…..Audi sold them without and did install them within the year.

Except we do need china for the rare earth metals that are not present in US soil. That is why most of the chips in the world are produced there. They have the raw materials that we do not. Plus, our workers want to make more than $1.00 an hour, so we would be paying 10 times more for labor on top of buying the expensive raw materials. The whole thing is not as easy as "we don't need China"
Agree to a point, we need to start depending on American made products and putting AMERICANS to work, sure it would be more expensive but I and I'm sure many others would gladly pay to have a complete truck. Things made cheaper and cheaper labor are not necessarily better..

Hello, it is a teal metallic 93 cobra, thanks for noticing. For you truck guys who dont know the story. The 93 mustag cobra was the first product from ford svt. , which (as i understand the story) later became ford performance. I bought it new off the showroom floor. I posted the picture to give people a look, but i won't waste a lot of space in the thread talking about it again. But , thanks again.

Oh, and i do drive it. Its a blast on the gravel roads around here. It's a blast in the city cause people who know mustangs look and wave.
