I am running 245/65-17's. If Waze is accurate, my speedo does not get off 1 MPH until I reach 55 MPH. Where my actual speed is 56 MPH. Even at 78-80 MPH it hasn't reached 2 MPH off. Still just 1 MPH. Pretty much a non issue at that tire size and not worth taking action.
Thanks

Interesting, could you measure the diameter of your tire?

I was going to leave it alone but a guy at my work has forscan so we changed it. Did a short test drive on the highway and speedometer is perfect now.

Well I take it back for the moment, we changed it in the bcm, test drove and it was good. Went to go home and it had an awd fault. A code in the pcm saying it was getting incorrect information from the bcm. So we'll have to check tomorrow and see if something else needs to be changed as well.

I haven't been able to change it in forscan without it saying awd fault and showing codes in the awd, pcm and pscm. So for now it's back to original settings. I will try again when I get time.

If your truck came with 225 65 17 tires and you put 245 65 17 tires on (like I did) it will be off 2mph at an indicated 55mph.

But according to two GPS apps and some radar signs, it's off 1 MPH. Not that 1 MPH is a big difference. Just reporting what I'm observing.

That assumes the speedo is correct in the first place, and it probably isn't.

Good point. And it's possible the speedo was set by Ford based on the 235/65-17 for the FX4 models. THat would make it 1 MPH off going to 245's. But either way, my speedo is not off with MAXXIS RAZR AT 245's until I get to 50 MPH, when it finally gets to 1 MPH. And it still is not 2 MPH off even at 80 MPH.

Were you able to mess around with this any more? I am trying to adjust mine using forscan and I am getting AWD errors (DTC codes) for any value I input with the exception of the original number. I am interested to see if there are any workarounds to not get these errors and fix the speedo.

Thanks!

Don't the other modules need to be forced to learn new input 🤔
