I guess this is causing some confusion. I did not get the tire to fit so that the teeth would do their job in case of a rear end collision. This tire is "on top" of them when pulled up under the car. The tire fits between the rear axel and the hitch.
Hopefully that helps.
One of the first upgrades that I did to my Maverick was a 2in level/lift and put larger tires on. The tires I put on are 245/70/R17 BFG KO2s.
As part of that upgrade, I wanted to add a spare that is the same size as the rest of the tires. When I measured the spare tire well, It was going to...
sorry for the delayed response. I just realized I missed this question.
From what I understand, the only part potentially effected by accelerated wear would be the CV joints. There is a slight increase in angle on the joint which can increase wear. It is only a marginal increase however and...
More to come on this. I decided that I don't want to have an actual full size spare to match the new set of tires on the truck. I have a new steel rim on order and will be sourcing a used tire from a local shop to put on there. My initial measurements indicate that there is roughly 15.5...
I did not address the spare. I did not opt for the “full size spare” option from the factory. Just running the donut at the moment.
I need to do more research on what size tire I can fit in the spare location and on the rim.
Much appreciated! Personally I like the velocity blue because it stands out a bit more. Makes the truck pop a bit in traffic.
Good luck with your order!
Also interested in this answer. The lack of adjustable lumbar support in my XLT has been the biggest (and only) negative thing on my Maverick. I added a pillow style lumbar support. It works pretty well, but looks goofy and is still not as comfortable as my previous Hyundai. I am still...
Clearance is good. no rubbing, no cutting or grinding. From other reading I did, this is pretty much the largest you can go without grinding a re-welding some pinch welds.
I asked the dealer about the warranty and they said any lift less that 6in will not void the warranty.
After about a week of semi-regular driving, the on board MPG tracker is showing just over 22 MPG. This is with a little less highway than normal for me, so hopefully it will get better. I also just enabled eco mode (using forscan) and am intending to adjust the speed calibration (to account...
yes, I believe that is the case, however the "module initiation/learn vehicle data" module does not show up in the menu on Forscan for me. Not sure if that is a forscan issue or a Ford Maverick issue.
Thoughts?
Were you able to mess around with this any more? I am trying to adjust mine using forscan and I am getting AWD errors (DTC codes) for any value I input with the exception of the original number. I am interested to see if there are any workarounds to not get these errors and fix the speedo...
