The Lightning IS bringing new Ford customers in the door. There aren't too many vehicles out there in the electric world that can offer what the Lightning does. Just like the Maverick you have people who have never owned a pickup truck OR a Ford before buying one for a multitude of reasons. Plus it's significantly more profitable than the Maverick. Remember that Ford isn't really having a tough time selling the Ecoboost Maverick so why would Ford relegate more battery resources to the Maverick Hybrid when they're much better served in the Lightning? Sure, the hybrid Maverick is more popular than the Ecoboost but Ford isn't having any problems selling the Ecoboost Maverick and it still serves the purpose you mentioned, getting Ford customers in the door. No offense but as a shareholder and considering the Lightning is sold out through 2024 I hope they push all the battery resources they can to Lightning production. That would be short sighted as the Maverick is an entry level vehicle that would/will build customer loyalty to the broader consumer for maybe a lifetime. If Ford wants to lead in the electrification move, a positive experience is needed. A Hybrid Maverick now can lead to many more Ford purchases down the road. Been there!
