Ford App - non existent REMOTE START

I picked up my XL EB yesterday and was shown the remote start feature by the sales person. It has worked so far. Does anyone know if this is bluetooth, wifi, or cellular based? I was told it was a permanent free app based feature. I thought I had read there was a free 3 month AT&T service but would be a paid service after 3 months but not sure.

Not true it’s free had mine for 6 years on different cars

The remote start feature with the app uses the cellular modem in the truck. All Mavericks have this modem. Ford and AT&T have an agreement that these modems can use the cell phone network to send the small amount of data necessary for Ford app features even if you do not subscribe to the WiFi data plan for the truck.

Do you only have the APP like me, or do you also have the "mechanical remote on your key fob"? My cars with the Mechanical always worked at any temp.

Both. But I use the app most of the time. But your Maverick must be within range of an AT&T LTE signal for it to work.

Your app must be messed up my app works great also I can start with my fob

When you use the fob does the gas engine start under any circumstance? Hot, cold, ac or heat on or off?
I got the luxury package just to get the fob start button but wondering if it will start the engine regardless of the weather.

Yes it will start any weather And what ever you used last will run with it air or heat winter time use the defrost before shutting down then when you remote will also start , that same in hot weather
In hot weather use air and it will start with remote also
