Love the kit and look. Why Ford doesn't offer fog lights as an option (as well as a Homelink mirror) is beyond me. I wish I knew of an electrical shop that could install these for me...my mechanical skills are severely lacking but at least I recognize that beforehand...).

Anyone know the amount of current that passes through the cabin switch? I'm hoping it is just a switching circuit and not passing the full amperage of the fog lights through it. I have 12,16,and 19 mm circular pushbutton switches to mount in the headlight insert and they match the color and will look well. The problem is the small 12mm pushbuttom latching switches that I like the best are only rated for 2 amps versus 5-8 for the larger ones. Unfortunately DDs actual wire size may not be a good indicator to use.

Diode Dynamics lights are awesome. I installed the amber on my Forester and would not trade them for anything. They are very wide and the amber cuts through the fog. I will definitely plan on installing these on my Maverick

It is entailed and the hardest part will be cutting out the bumper with a rotary tool (DREMEL) A cordless one will NOT have the nuts to do it. The rest is Plug and Play.

Just to confirm something...I have Lariat with the DLRs active when the truck is on. My my front amber parking lights only come when dusk unless I manually activate them. Did Diode have you tap into the ambers lights such that their amber lights are on only when the trucks amber lights are on? The amber lights are really called parking lights since they are not normally on versus running lights that are usually always on even in daylight...like the DLRs.

How hard is the installation? What experience level is needed to install?

Not difficult, but time consuming. Low and slow. Everyone can do it, as long as you havevthe tools required. Watch the installation video. I believe in you.

I don't want them wired that way....I am rewiring so that the amber foglight is on when the truck is running and the fogs are controlled by my switch regardless of the high or low beam. This is how I always wire up my fog so I control them not the vehicle. I may wire it so the white fogs are only on when the headlights are on..not sure. But I want my fogs available with my high beams regardless. I never understood that concept of turing them off with the highs on..makes no sense at all.

What did you use to cut the holes for the lights. Is it hard to remove the bumper or just plastic body clips?

Not hard at all, a Dremel, mostly clips. Watch the install video it's pretty realistic

My kit came in yesterday. I checked it all out. The light housings are OEM quality. Like most, my hang up is the switch. I will install these in the springtime. I am l looking at different switches than the one the kit has. I am thinking of mounting whatever switch I decide on where I am pointing in the pic. Its wide open space behind it.

With a little work, you could get another rear bed switch and change the icon to indicate fog lamps, then mount it on the right side like you wanted for a "factory" look.
