Did you remove the whole panel to get at the back of the headlight console assembly? That looks like it may be easier than trying to remove the insert. I'll get to it this weekend if my lights come today.

Headlight controls just pop off. Just the angled section of the dash they're mounted on. Just pull from the door side and then underneath by the steering wheel.

Finished my install today.

Update: Since this post I added an amber button for the Fogs and the original upper blue button will be for ambient lighting.

Looks good...i"m putting my two smaller 12mm buttons in that spot vertically. Looks like you used a 16mm button with still room to spare for another one under it. I'm wiring up two now since I know there will be something else I will need power for using a relay switch sooner or later.

Yes, I'm planning on adding a second button underneath the first one for ambient lighting.

You can wire it so it's always on or just when the fogs are on. You can also pick a color.

I have the absence of time. The lights aren't just light bulbs. There is a use and purpose for them.

The amber is only when the Side marker lights are on. The beams when the low beam headlights are on.

I went a different route for my lights. They are on my when the low beam headlights are on

I'm using one of these in the blank spot in the lightining controls.

Their metal box is pretty much a relay I’m guessing.

I asked DD and they responded to my questions. Their switch carries very little current and simply activates the logic in their metal box to switch the light on. The main draw is via the battery to the box and then to the fog lights so you can probably use any switch you want. I may use these although I have 3 other types ordered and still waiting for but I really like this small black pusbutton latching switch. Pictures are poor....it really only lights the center and the outer lit ring isn't really visible when I look at it yet the camera sees it??? The lit color is very close if not dead on compared to my small headlight panel light. Button is really small with four prongs on back. Black

satin finish and head is about 1.5 the thickness of a dime once installed in the panel. Switch comes with locking nut and small rubber o-ring. I will solder my plug to it..installing two ...one for future stuff. Many different faces for them but this one looks close enough as a fog if turned sideways.

This is sort of my question too. I'd like to do something better than what they included and am trying to get more specs on the switch they used. Carling makes a few switches I'd like to try fitting in if room allows.

I went with my foglights coming on with m6 low beam headlights. The cleanest look.
