In many years of owning trucks of almost all manufacturers, I’ve never used a rear window defogger. Like mentioned, make sure the hvac is not on recirc.

Yes, open the vent to let air in to recirculate. If that doesn't you are breathing to heavy. In many years of owning trucks of almost all manufacturers, I’ve never used a rear window defogger. Like mentioned, make sure the hvac is not on recirc.
My order has rear sliding window. I heard you can't do rainx with rear sliding window. Any other options for aftermarket rear defroster?I’ve never had much of a problem over a year in Michigan winter. I would also recommend as others have rainx (& similar products) but just like having a full load in the bed you can’t see out back so use your mirrors, etc.
Why not? Only reason I could see would be some claim about the window sliding open and closed rubbing off the coating prematurely. Which wouldn't be a reason to not use Rain X. Just means you have to reapply more often.I heard you can't do rainx with rear sliding window.
Frost Fighter actually makes an aftermarket kit for the rear windshield... don't know how much of a pain it is to install or how well it works. Saw it on another forum.Yes, open the vent to let air in to recirculate. If that doesn't you are breathing to heavy.
Do not use the recycle setting on the heat and A/C on rainy or snowing days. You can crack a window to relieve the issueI had watched a Youtube video (cannot recall who made it) but with several people seated in the Maverick they had issues dealing with a foggy rear window.
I just wanted to know if this is a legitimate issue or nothing to worry about.
Thanks!![]()
I’ve looked into that. They only say it can go on a window without any opening.Frost Fighter actually makes an aftermarket kit for the rear windshield... don't know how much of a pain it is to install or how well it works. Saw it on another forum.

With the amount of ice we had the other day the truck still had ice on everything after I got home from my 30+ minute drive. So yeah that’s not tha answer. You have a back up camera and side mirrors until the cab gets warmed up. You'll be fine.
