I may play around with a heat gun to see if I can get that top edge to flatten out a little. Yes, that is the hitch cover for trucks with no hitch so the platic color is 100% OEM match.

While inperfect, this was done with bumper on the truck. Saved much time and labor.

Simply amazing that trailer hitch cover just happens to be the same size and that you had the vision to use it for an alternate purpose. Great post. I’m sure this will save interested readers a lot of work and time. Where’d you get the fogs?

Mine do say "for off road use only".

I will use them only in coastal fog and very rural areas. They are not meant for city use. Too bright.

You answered a question on many minds. While these are a great price, it's important to know they are for off-road use only. The more expensive fogs are beamed so as to not shine into oncoming vehicles and can be used for 'city' type use.

I'd be surprised if they're actually 60W each. Usually that's Chinese marketing "60W equivalent" and they're only a few amps. The 18W Lasfit fogs I have output more light than a "300W" 12" lightbar.

The yellow above are SUPER bright.
They are spot flood combination.
Got to use them in the back woods.
They are pretty awesome if I do say so.

Most of us in the Mustang world don't run front plates either.

What fuses are you tapping for the fog lights? DId you use an engine bay fuse point or wire through the firewall from the passenger fuse box? Tapping in the engine compartment looks like it is a real PITA compared to my older Escape. They should have used the same design as the old Escapes...much easier for power access which is probably why they buttoned it all up tighter.

Has anyone found a style/brand to add fog lights to place in the plastic next to the towhooks? Im thinking I might just have to place them on the grill somewhere, but it would be cool to utilize this part of the plastic.

Those are not foglights. Foglights have a very flat and wide beam with a very sharp upper cutoff to avoid blinding you in fog. I really hate the standard Ford fog lights on all their vehicles that only come on with the headlights, defeating their purpose. In fog, headlights should be off and foglights on in order to actually see where you are going without being blinded by backscatter. The same goes in a snowstorm.

Since mine are custom they can be on with or without the headlamps.

And the low mount keeps the reflection back at you to a minimum. Not experienced thick fog yet. But in dark woods, totally awesome.

But yes, in a blizzard I agree. Fog lamps on, headlamps off.

Sorry that I do. Only good point is that even with the SC changed and all the mods on my older GT500 it still passes all the emissions required in the state. If it was CA it would be an issue.

I wish the Lariat trucks had the ability to illuminate the amber signals lights as parking lights
