Fluid in drivers footwell

We came out a few days ago and found the carpet on the drivers side foot well was completely soaked. When we got in it sounded like you were walking on a splash pad. I used my carpet shampooer and removed about 1/2 gal of water/fluid. I don’t think it is coolant it was not slimy and was clear. Took it into the dealer as it should still be under warrant, but they said it is likely the condensate drain but I order to confirm they would need to remove the dash and that would be 9 hours of labor that is not warranty work if it is a clogged condensation drain. Does this seem right why would you need to remove the dash I order to get to the condenser drain and if you do need to do all that work how would debris get into it to clog it?

The condensation drain tube may be in the same location on the EcoBoost I do not know.
On the hybrid the condensation drain tube is still behind the main Splash Shield and the heat shields this is what I found from another forum.

You will find it middle top under the heat shield. Directly between the seats. You will have to take your front cover off and the two side covers will have to have a few bolts loosened. Then remove all the 10 mm bolts holding the heat shield in place bend that sucker and slide it down. You will then have access to this disgusting hole.

Every car with air conditioning has one of these condensation drain tubes. They can be clogged fairly easily by dirt, mold, algae, and insect nests – dirt dauber wasps especially common in humid environments, can obstruct the drain line.
Unfortunately on a Maverick they're a bitch to get to.

I had the same problem and they found something broken in the engine well. Can't remember what it was but they fixed it and
I haven't had the water since.

Since air conditioning has been around? In cars, I guess that would go back to about 1950.
Homes have condensation drain tubes for the air conditioning. That's one of the reasons window air conditioners can't be mounted perfectly level they won't drain properly.

Huh - I guess it's such a dry heat there the cars don't leave puddles under them when not moving for a short period of time like stop light.

Wow, it seemed like back in the 70s and 80s. They just dripped the water from under the engine bay directly onto the ground. I can’t remember if it’s the condenser or the evaporator that the water drips off.
