Drive, clean, removed dealer sticker. Repeat 1 and 2. Mods can come later. Strictly fun driving it the little I can for now. I walk past it 4 days a week.
How do you remove the decals safely?

Don’t have mine yet.. but I can promise you the first thing I’m doing is taking off the dealers sticker on my brand new baby. 🤓🤓
When I knew my Mav was about to hit the dealer, I contacted them and requested no dealer stickers and no front license plate. They obliged! So, first 2 things I did was add the stubby antenna to the radio, and put in the Alla bulbs in the reverse lights. I have the LasFit bulbs ordered for the turn signal, and my BakFlip MX4 tonneau cover should arrive any day. It was mentioned that the Alla bulbs for the brake lights do not cause any hyper flash or computer errors. So, I might purchase those soon. Also, I'd like to get the tailgate extender, splash guards, spoiler, and lettering at some point.

Pulled the rear headrests off and stowed them under the seat, took the dealer’s license frame off, took pictures and ordered a new hitch cover.

The first thing i did was cut a 2x10 to make a bed divider so things wouldn't slide all the way to the front. 2x10 is a little too heavy to lift out easily so I'm going to cut some 2x4s, add some screen and make a lighter one.

Aside from removing the stickers and washing and waxing it myself, window tints. All of my cars, window tints come first.

First item:
Get it undercoated. I saw a guy do it himself and the awesome video showed some laminations, flat shelves and hidden panels on the Maverick.
Don't want a rust bucket to be putting all those nice and expensive accessories onto.

Fluid Film or Crown installer is the question.

Do you have a link to that video?

Is this something I should be interested in living in Florida? I do plan on taking it on trips to mountains/snow but it would be few and far between.

I don't know about Florida and rust. But if your lifestyle brings you North in the winter or you like to drive on the ocean beaches, it is an option to consider.

What a great and informative video! Not sure that I would need to do this living the desert, but I could see doing some areas with rubberized undercoating spray especially in the wheel wells. I did like his idea of protecting the spare with cover, anyone else do this? What's the downside of using a cover?
