That sucks, if corporate had any balls they would terminate dealership agreements with dealerships with these unethical practices.

They could literally cut out the new car dealers. To the naysayers:
1. Contract with reputable mechanic shops for service and maintenance. Most people don't trust dealer service departments anyway.
2. Deliver cars to your house like carvana delivers. They already have destination fees built in.
3. Everything else is bought online, why not.
4. Test drives? No, just read the reviews.

Am I really leaving something out?
Yes the dealers have the state legislators by the balls. May states cannot sell Teslas within their borders. For some reason Christie in NJ gave Teslas a pass. Money talks.

I was hoping, but am not surprised that the FoMoCo guy assigned to monitor this forum hasn't chimed in on the games dealers are playing with custom Mav orders.

I understand free enterprise. The Mossy Ford dealer [San Diego CA 92109] mentioned in the original post charges $162.50 for an "express" oil and filter change with full syn oil. I can choose to go elsewhere. But if I place a custom order in good faith, I expect to be treated fairly, not used. To reiterate from my original post, FoMoCo is winking at dealers who turn a custom order into a profit center by not giving the customer an opportunity to "claim" their ordered vehicle. That is deceitful.
They won't Ford monitors the forum for truck problems only. Trying to mitigate People bashing the vehicles. Ford doesn't own the dealerships.

Yeah, you're leaving out the elephant in the room; franchise laws set up in every state of the US that prohibit car manufacturers from cutting out franchised dealerships and using direct sales instead.
I should have known laws are set up to protect businesses.

My maverick is in production now and I ordered through Mossy Ford, hopefully they aren’t pulling these stunts anymore

I cant wait to see what Ford and Farley will do about this. 🤣
Want to know what they will do.......

ZIP!! They don't care. Ford got their money when the dealer ordered it. Ford doesn't care who actually gets the car in the end. Consumer is the one getting screwed!

Oh, and Farley is AWFUL as CEO!!

I will never understand dealers doing crap like this! Making some extra money on a vehicle but losing a potential life-long customer! Dumb move by dealerships!
Well in a few years they will likely sell the dealership. Buy another and it continues.
