Finally fixed my rattling dash!

I finally isolated my dash rattle and fixed it, without tools in less than 1 minute. And it cost absolutely nothing!

Now that I know how to do it, I'm going to get more straws.

Really though, it will inform now where I put extra foam pieces between the dash and the windshield to create a little bit of a binding effect.

I have a seemingly endless supply of that "repair part" in my Maverick since I seem to be handed extra straws whenever I go thru a Drive-Thru. Which is funny since my state passed some legislation that customers are supposed to need to ask for a straw/plastic utensils if they want any at all.

Straws are used for something other than snorting white stuff?! I just noticed those speaker covers don’t fit on well. Not surprised it rattles there.

Reminds me of when I had to wedge a matchbook between the top of the 8 track tape & the tape door so it played one track at a time & not 2, yes I am that old.

Great fix! I stuffed a couple of socks in my '08 Accord's rear speaker deck. Fixed the rattling

Reminds me of when I had to wedge a matchbook between the top of the 8 track tape & the tape door so it played one track at a time & not 2, yes I am that old.

I remember doing the exact same thing...

Can't do that in Colorado, No straws allowed, at least at the Costco we went too. LOL

I laughed, but if this truck had the A pillar airbag TSB done, my guess is that the tech deformed that speaker grille and the rattle started after that.

I am sure you used a feeler gauge to determine what straw would work, a Sonic ice-cream straw or a hospital bendy straw

Picked mine up at dealership in the beginning of Feb... 3 weeks into having it I could hear the dash/windshield rattle but only when going over a bump... Then about a week and a half to two weeks later it just disappeared on its own.... Man I'll tell u I was pretty happy.. Cuz it was annoying!!!
