***FINAL UPDATE*** Transmission issues

Yea, I had one weird time when I went through a car wash, drove home. Shut the truck off and it turned itself back on after I took the key out of the ignition... I've put on 3k miles since then and hasn't happened again.

That is quite worrisome. How much water is really sprayed under the the vehicles in drive thru car washes. If the water, assuming that was the issue, didn't get UNDER the truck, HOW did it get to where it caused that issue? That's a huge safety problem to me....I can see talking to the police: well officer I was just standing by my Maverick when it just up and drove off. No reason. It just jacked itself!!!

Ive been documenting MTC Maverick issues from day 1. As far as I know you’re the first to mention corrosion and water in sensors. Did they find a massive water leak from the hood to the engine bay?

Mine was repaired in February for corroded wiring harness in the charging system. Giving me a charging system service now message. Which was the repair I worked with ford on that I referred to to original poster when I said make sure they responded to the ford rep on here

Hey Ford good job stepping up to help this kid. It's great that you monitor the club. Nice to know you're taking notes. Here's one for you, ensure that when the dealers release the Maverick they remember to take the tire pressures down to 35 from 45 psi. My wife has been getting 21 MPG on her Maverick with mostly highway driving, yesterday I checked the pressures on my Ford Pass, 45 psi all of them and she's put over2,500 miles on it. So that could have caused a blow out at that level. So today she drove with the proper tire pressure and we'll do a MPG check again soon and you know that 21 MPG is, basically, unacceptable. We're Ford people and this was a present from me, I replaced her 2nd Fiesta SE and I'm driving my 3rd F-150 and our 10th new Ford product . Thank you

No it was supposed to be set at 35psi so we reset it and the truck drives like it dream to begin with but now I won’t worry about her having any potential issues because it’s properly set. It’s a minor issue but too high could cause a blowout to low other issues. They just forgot to set it at the dealership. But she has over 2,500 miles on it and she loves her Maverick, hope you do too

Yeah, I was expecting between 25 to 27 MPG. Not sure why she has such crappy mileage. I’ll check with my friend that works at the dealership to see if there’s a way to check the software. I had an issue with my 2018 F-150 slamming gears out of the blue he said no problem, he plugged it into his computer and no issues since then. Maybe it just needs a similar update. But she does love her Maverick, crap mileage or not

You don’t really think Ford is running this combo on the ragged edge do you? 250hp, 4k trailer and stomp on the gas. It should hold up fine. Can’t see adding 50hp doing any harm, especially if you are not towing 4k.

They did not mention that. I did see the pins from the front bumper And they were corroded. My thought is if it was built in Mexico and sat in a damp humid area could cause this. I will give the dealership a thumbs up they check other connectors and found no issues.

The 35psi is recommended to keep all the tread in contact with the road in your particular vehicle. Thats why the manufacturer stamps it on the driver side door pillar. Higher pressure will get better gas milage but also longer stopping distances, instability on curves, in rain and wear the center out off the tire. So the gas savings will go to buying new tires in half the mileage expected

The 50psi is the max pressure the tire can handle before very bad things can happen. Pothole blowout etc.

I know its a transmission thread but we can't have people believing they can run their truck at max pressure on tire sidewall.
