Has anyone noticed mainly since FMC changed the Ford Pass App after filling the tank that fuel level never sees 100%? Even though I do a no no and click the nozzle multiple times fuel level never gets topped off at least as far as the app goes. My wife repeatedly tells me (you didn’t fill the tank).
I do not even see the fuel gauge on my app. Just shows miles to go, well now that is not there either?

Well now it is back, not the gauge, but it again shows range?

Wonder how you know if it is the updated version? This app now show a swipe for remote start. So something has changed? I like the original app I had. It showed warranty info, fuel gauge, amd range. Yes I did have to hold a button to remote start, but it had more info.

Some variation in pumps clicking off or not filling can be how the nozzle is inserted. If it is clocked some or inserted not far enough or even too far the opening in the nozzle may not be perfectly lined up with the tank neck resulting in flow restrictions which can cause pump to click off. I always use slowest pump flow setting because fast flow can trip the pump off also.

I think it looks cool that way.
it's going to destroy your ball bearings and warranty would not cover it. Probably you already voided your warranty by topping off your gas tank anyway. :(

Ford parked it in my app that way. I never top off my tank! 🙂

Fill it in the morning (less gas expansion due to heat) and make sure the trigger isn't at full blast (think soda)

This is an urban legend. The massive underground fuel tanks are not impacted by atmospheric temperatures by any measurable amount. The earth is a massive heat sink (and so is the fuel in the storage tanks). It would take an atmospheric temperature of like 500 degrees Fahrenheit and then waiting a couple hours for those tanks to show any sort of fuel expansion that would end up costing you a couple pennies.

https://www.consumerreports.org/car...ng-up-during-hottest-part-of-day-a4921113017/

“The National Conference of Weights and Measures performed an exhaustive four-year study to determine whether any changes to current procedures were necessary to compensate for temperature and determined that no changes were necessary.”

"Judy Dugan, former research director for the California advocacy group Consumer Watchdog, tells CR, “The temperature variation between day and night at an individual gas station is apt to be negligible.” She adds that today’s tanks tend to keep the gasoline at the same temperature at which it’s delivered for a while. “If fuel is warm when it’s delivered to a station, it’ll still be warm when it’s sold a few hours later.”

This is what my Ford app showed after I filled up today. I only live about a 1/4 mile from the gas station:
