Fuel tank swap from an ecoboost into a hybrid?

I posted the same question awhile back thinking it would be a straight exchange a la F150 26gl to 35gl.
The hybrid tank is 3x(?) more than EB so there is more to it than just capacity.
Now an extended range tank on EB might be a possibility

Go for it I would, however I would wait until the warranty expires but that’s just me. I owned a F-250 which had space underneath in the bed area it was just time and modification and a bit fabrication but worked. I haven’t looked underneath the maverick but if there is space after the warranty I’ll add another tank why not maybe I could go 1000 miles per fill up. Go for it.

Thanks yeah I would definitely wait till then. It was just a thought. I used to own a Nissan versa note that got 40mpg and it always bugged me that it had such a small tank that my range was about 400 miles. My sister in law had one of those Diesel Jettas that had a 600 mile range. I thought that was pretty awesome. I obviously hate fueling so often being that I drive 100 miles a day.

Not reasonable because of minimum gain? It would extend my range by about 100 miles. which means one more day.

Mostly cost & effort. It's likely there are differences in fuel line connections, EVAP layout/connections, and wiring harness. A lot more to it than it might first appear. You would have considerable fabricating to do, even if you purchased necessary parts from Ford, which would be expensive, if you could even get them.

So yeah, the ROI (both time & cost) on that is really bad, IMO.

If you're that committed to the idea, more simple could be, a fuel cell in the back of the truck bed plumbed to the main. Think of it as mid-air refueling. I wouldn't mess around with the stock tank, but open a valve (and cycle your fuel door) to refuel your main tank from your spare? I might do that.
