Has anyone noticed mainly since FMC changed the Ford Pass App after filling the tank that fuel level never sees 100%? Even though I do a no no and click the nozzle multiple times fuel level never gets topped off at least as far as the app goes. My wife repeatedly tells me (you didn’t fill the tank).

Gas pumps will siphon some fuel back when you do that.

Topping off the tank can get liquid gas into the evap canister which can cost several hundred $$$ to turn off the check engine light and cure emission problem codes. Fill the tank to first click off using the slow setting on the gas pump handle! Tell wife 4% is safety margin. As far as the gas pump "siphon" it has a vapor vacuum to recapture any vapor that may get pushed out of tank by the incoming fuel.

If you continue trying to top off a modern vehicle, you're potentially asking for trouble.
I've been topping off my tank since 1976. Never had an issue.

I mean, you don't keep topping and topping and topping, but you definitely should give it one more shot. Some pumps turn off to quickly, and some tanks bubble up the neck causing premature shutoff (My 2003 RAM was like that).

My process - fill it until it shuts off. Wait 30 seconds for the gas to settle. Pump more until it shuts off again, then hang up the nozzle, record my information on fuelly, take my receipt, reset everything and go on my way.

I have pumped 2 more gallons in after the first click on the Mav. Always top off rental cars 30 miles out of airport (cheaper and more accessible gas stations) so gauge still shows full at drop off.
