And automatically move itself into Park if you shut the vehicle off not in Park?
Pretty sure the F150s do that
I feel dumb that I didn’t realize the F150 wasn’t a real shifter
I mean duh, it folds out of the way

That looks awesome! I always liked the F-150 shifter. I might just have to do this!

The 21-23 F-150 shifter works on our trucks. It requires some trimming of the console but the plug is the same and it drives like normal. Haven’t hooked up the paddle shifters but I assume the shifter buttons will work once wired. This is temporary until I make a better mount but it fits and works. I’m going to make a panel for the brake and drive modes in front of the center console.

My first question on this is: WHY would you do that??? Seems silly, totally unnecessary, and asking for problems.

I don’t care what people say. I post stuff for the good of the group. Look at the Recaros, now everyone is doing it.

For what it’s worth my Maverick is a Ford Frankenstein lol.

Isn't the proper term "Fordnkenstein"?

He feels like it ? If you ask me I would love to put the rotary disc at someplace in the dash, and remove or trim part of the center console so I can switch from seat to seat. Is logical ? No idea, I just like the idea of been able to go back and forth just in a minivans used to do.

Some ideas are not based on logic or look, those created by curiosity or in search of having your truck the way you wanted, I love to see many projects here or YouTube, 99.999999% of those are way out of my league or wouldn't do it anyway, but once in a blue moon you could find something that leaves you in shock, and asking yourself why you didn't came out with it, I mean it make sense (that's my case).

No meant to be rude, just trying to explain my case.

Awesome job.hope to see more .

I totally get it , people worry about resale.i just laugh , our trucks are devaluing at a $350 + a month rate , I am making my truck what I want too , to enjoy the time with it. Whether it’s worth $8000 in 6 years or $9000 is irrelevant to my happiness and knowledge growth and satisfaction in that 6-7 years!
Great idea too! Still haven’t gotten used to the rotary ! May consider this mod after I finish suspension and bumper stuff.

I am anther one who likes your idea but too afraid to try it.
I’ve had my truck for 1 week and 2 things I don’t care for are the shifter and the start/stop…

Can we get some better photos with some actual light? This is a neat mod.

Excellent! Well done.
But now you've done it: There's gonna be a run on F-150 shifter assemblies.
Lots of folks would rather have that than the rotary shifter knob thingy.

Steve
I’d love to have the shifter be on the column, I think that would have been the ideal solution to trying to “open up” the cabin space as well as giving it a cool touch

Youre gonna put a Bronco sport front end on it arent you?:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Pretty cool that the shifter fits. I dont exactly like where the mode and such buttons are but, im not sure where else I like them either. Maybe in place of the dash screen right under the JVC CD deck! Its been almost half a year and I am still in no way used to the shifter. I shift it wrong constantly. But im one of those guys who in other vehicles is always doing weird stuff shifting like rolling in neutral on various hills and such just because I can. Sometimes on my way home from work I do the last half mile with the engine off fighting the manual steering and vaccum depleted breaks just to save a splash of go juice in my comanche. I can go right through my gate, down my gnarly hill and into my parking spot on gravity alone.

I don’t have your talent but I love everything you’ve done! We use to do all kinds of stuff to our vehicle in the 60’s-70’s. Look forward to seeing your next mods!!!

I don't know how cross-compatible Ford steering columns are these days but if that means the F-series GSMs "talk" the same then theoretically might could swap one of those with column shifter in.

Ah, the mid-90's to early-2000's when Ford's all had the same steering column
except for those stupid cast aluminum shift tubes and their clamps breaking
