They came back and offered me $5000 (which also nets me $250 in saved sales tax). I accepted happily...a no-hassle sale of an old vehicle with standard leaky Chevy oil pan.
Economy is not doing well, those cheaper vehicles will sail. Obviously not much money for a dealer but a deal is a deal, gotta keep moving.

So today I got a call that someone backed out of their maverick special order. I have been looking for awhile now but decided to not "order" one. I'm good with just what they have to offer on the lot. Either way, I show up with my 2019 F-150 XLT 5.0 Sport with roughly 72,500 miles on it. I know the truck isn't anything crazy and I don't expect some astronomical trade value. Told the dealer they had 1 shot at the trade in or I walk. 17k for a basically perfect truck minus mileage. Was told that the "sport" package and the add ons have ZERO value. I asked them to please give me my 12k back then from when I bought new, since it has no value. Clearly knowing that this isn't the case. I'm not new to the dealership game, I've worked auto finance before. Either way, I sorta blew a gasket on the trade in number. I mean here in the Houston area, these trucks sell for 30+ all day and quickly in this new f*cked up market. I was walking out and they wanted to give me 22-23k all of the sudden, but I was already over it at that point. Would like to hear some thoughts on what others would do in this situation. Thanks guys
I got $17,500 on my 2013 F150 when I traded 6 years later for a Mustang GT at $5,000 off sticker. I paid $24,500 for the STX 5.0 new. $6,500 for 6 years use I thought was good. Truck was mint, with about 30K miles.

I too traded an f150 for my Maverick. Dealer offered $1500 and I just wanted to dump it. But I went by carmax just for giggles and they said $4000! (Paid $3500 in 2017) It was a 2004 xl 7700 natural gas work truck w/ 89,000 miles. Tanks were expired so I was surprised, they must not have known. I sold it 2 days before the Mav came in.

I traded my '18 F-150 3.5 EB. I absolutely loved this truck, but the 36 gallon tank was a wallet shredder Avg. 250-300 a month on gas. I wanted the Lightning at first, but felt like the Lightning was too expensive, poor range, and the infrastructure isn't there yet. So I went with the Maverick. My first tank netted me 612miles and $37... Also I didn't do much truck things with my F-150 except get those turbos spooling :)

No regrets.
