F-150 Shifter Installed in Maverick!

My hybrid would feel more 'truck' like with that shifter in it. But, a hybrid is a hybrid and I love the gas mileage. Guess I could also add the 'FX2" decal on the back panels to make it look more aggressive????? Oh heck, I'm too old to worry about such stuff
I got rid of my F-150 for better gas mileage and ease of parking. I do admit I miss the room of my F-150 though.

Wow, that is chutzpah right there diving into modifying the shifter like that. I would love to see the look on the dealer's face when he or she gets in to move the vehicle.

Sadly, much too old and lacking in those type of skills to tackle something like that. This mod is a young person's mod. On the flip side of that coin, I am prolly the only one here on this site that loves the Rotary Shifter.

I notice the F150 shifter has up and downshift buttons on the shifter handle itself. I am assuming if you pull it down drive and press the M button that gives you manual up and down shifting.

Figure out how to incorporate the steering wheel resistance options I have in the mustang, “sport” “comfort” “normal” imo the steering on these things is very heavy

I love the rotary shifter and cannot understand the hate. It takes up less room and allows for faster shifting. I have never shifted by mistake. Imo it's a total improvement.

With that said I do admire your work installing the f150 shifter. Variety is the spice of life

Fun Fact: you can rotate away from D at stop lights and the engine doens't auto-stop

Am I crazy or is there shift-toggle switches on the left hand side of the shifter for Manual mode? And do they work?

Also, does it fold down on shut-down?

I admire your ability. Sounds like its extra quick too. Drive modes I guess are unaffected. How hard was the change. Just plug and unplug some wires and drop in or mush more involved? What are the gauges on the left of the wheel? Thanks for posting.
