When I heard that, the first thing I thought of was Ford is having big time battery issues. Could also be some motor issues too, but something happened with their battery supply chain big time. Of course they will not talk about it publicly but it cannot be good.

How, when and where will things improve for '23?
I agree. Probably sourced to priority high MSRP vehicles like Lightning and Mach E…..$19k for a Maverick, $80k for a lighting. Even Escape Hybrids are over $40k in the higher trims. I have not heard of any issues with Escape deliveries. I am sure they also were inundated with Maverick orders. I would love to see production figures on what trims were built and delivered in 2022…….

I hate to say it as I like Ford Products and have supported them well by buying and promoting two Mach E’s, I would love to see Hyundai come out with a Santa Cruz Hybrid……

Ford's supply issues are getting worse, not better. 4k very select trucks (dealer stock?) in last 5 weeks of production is definitely going out in a whimper. Can't wait for my dealer to give me the opportunity to purchase a base XL for $35K.

Yup . Good luck at $35k. Last week I stopped into a Ford Dealer while traveling through Bowling Green KY as I saw my “sons” maverick he has on order, on their lot.

Base XL hybrid no options 8k miles, interior was all scratched up and it smelled horrible, like farm animals inside, $44,777! OMG 😳

At least I got enough pictures so he can now feel real sad about having to wait until at least the first quarter of 2023 to get his first new truck….

So my XLT EcoBoost order from Dec 2021 wont be a 22 because I have Luxury? That's a definite?
I just watched the section of the video regarding these details and yes it appears that way. Nothings definite but @fordvideoguy has been a pretty reliable source of info......sorry man.:(

@fordvideoguy : I orderd back in Oct '21 a XLT AWD Ecoboost with lux, copilot 360, FX4, etc. I'm assuming I am one of those customers that will most likely get pushed to a '23 order. I guess the silver lining is now I can order the Tremor package. Any idea what options will be considered a "constraint" when we place our new orders? How long will it take to get our new '23 trucks if we are considered "priority" orders from 2022?

You should be at the front of the line, so you will most likely get your truck (that means having your butt in the seat) by early '24 ;)

I added splash guards to my LM order (well Tim added them for me) so I can be sure I wouldn't get a 2022. I ordered on the last day, 1/27, so there was probably not much chance my LM order would get scheduled, but it would be just my luck if it was.

I'm currently torn between ordering a Lariat Hybrid Lux or a XLT Tremor for 2023. I would imagine they would be about the same price (the Lariat Tremor will probably be more than I want to spend). I'm hoping that one of my two EB XLT orders get selected for 2022 so I can drive it for a while as I wait for my 2023 LM order.

When they announced the Tremor I wondered if a September 15th Tremor order might get you to the very front of the line. There would be zero 2022 builds in front of you and if (a bit if I know!) Ford has parts ready they can certainly build them immediately.

I guess depending on how Ford prioritizes the 2022 rollovers you might have 2022 orders converted to Tremors that would be first in line but even then I'd suspect a brand new day 1 Tremor order would probably get build pretty darn quickly.

This is my plan. I have an unscheduled Lariat Lux hybrid that I am going to convert to a 2023 XLT Tremor with my private offer.

Have zero need for a Tremor but if my XLT hybrid goes unscheduled this week I have to decide what to do with that order. I've already sent in a Long McArthur 2023 hybrid order but I know that could be a year or more as it will not be a rollover order. Switching my existing local order to a Tremor might get it built quickly and probably would have excellent re-sale when the Long McArthur hybrid turns up.

Guess I will have about a month to think about my best strategy.

Yeah I don't "need" a Tremor, but I do like it a lot. I figured I would take it and decide if I liked it or the Lariat hybrid better. Both should have excellent resale value.

I'm in suburban California and hardly ever get off pavement. Only time I even need anything beyond FWD is the odd day when it rains. But with how hard it is to get anything right now I might take something I don't need just to get the vehicle.

It looks like a nice job on the Tremor interior. Interested to see the order guide to find out what they are doing with the XLT Tremor interior. Will it get the same seats as the Lariat they pictured or a cloth version.

Probably sourced to priority high MSRP vehicles like Lightning and Mach E…..$19k for a Maverick, $80k for a lighting.
But the HV battery in a Maverick is 1.1kWh and in the Lightning it is 98kWh. So if my math is right they could build 89 Mavericks with same battery components in 1 Lightning. Or 61 Mach-E's. I would definitely think the margin on the Lightning is higher. But I don't think its 89 times higher.

Actually didn't Ford say the Mach-E was no longer profitable with current lithium prices? Its possible they would make more money on 89 Mavericks than they would on the equivalent EVs.

I'm thinking this is not a battery issue alone, something else is constrained. Maybe engines, maybe the eCVT.
