After 530 miles and 5 months since oil change, I decided to pull a sample of the Quaker State full synthetic oil to see what it looks like now. You know taste new coffee blend at early morning rise. And then pull another sample at maybe ~ 2,000 miles to check. It may take some time for the truck to reach this point since not driving it much. 530 miles in 5 months…..
The oil sample is Quaker State 5W-30 full synthetic. All the preceding samples were Motocraft oils, first of blend and later synthetic kinds. Their sampled results revealed not too encouraging numbers, especially the viscosity numbers. And sampled reports of shearing. After some research, found the QS specification has higher viscosity ranges than what Motocraft oil post in their specifications.
Anyway, the sample analysis report. This time I requested a TBN number, out of curosity.
