Are there specific specification a filter must meet. Can I get this filter from any car parts store. Are some brands better than others. My 2024 hybrid maverick has 30,000 miles left on its drivetrain warranty.

You have a Hybrid. There isn't a turbo.
Just a pretty basic 2.5L Atkinson cycle engine. It doesn't require any type of super filter.
If you have any doubts.
Go with Ford Motorcraft FA1948 👍

Yep, it’s pretty easy to stick with the Ford part. Available at many places online or in stores.

I went with the K & N also. Took it out of my '22 when I traded It in. Works fine in my '24. Kind of expensive when you figure in cleaner and treatment but I'll keep the Maverick a long time.

$50 sounds awfully expensive for an air filter, considering the materials used to make them. Is there something special about them that I'm not aware of?
It's actually 69$ now
It is a one time buy

Increased airflow. I've had k&n on other vehicles, but not on my Maverick hybrid.
I've even had the air-hog clone filters.
Here's the maintenance procedure.

95% of people clean the K&N too frequently.

Being a city / paved road kind of driver I cleaned the K&N in my old truck 3 times in 20 years. And that was just to make me feel good.

Unless you drive on dusty dirt roads frequently no need to do much.

It's also not hard to clean the stock one and put it back in. Pro Tip: use a leaf blower on it and blow against the grain. Blower is strong enough to blow the dust and bugs out, and not strong enough to tear it.

This thread reminded me to check my factory one.

42 months and 55,000 miles (city) looks like this:
