I could not find a specific post about this.
So.
Can anyone let me know what there experience with this has been? Does it work
- Can you adjust them in any way (as an example, the distance between you and the object)
- is it only vehicles or is there a pedestrian safety as well

I had it happen driving my wife’s Escape and it sounded like a fire alarm going off. It was a little terrifying but the Escape did stop though. If it stops collisions I’m all for it. My nerves might hate it, but my wallet will appreciate it.

I find it to be a little sensitive, but overall it works fine. I had it go off the other day when a vehicle in front of me was making a right hand turn. It was unhappy that I was not breaking lol. Makes a lot of noise. You can also configure it to apply the breaks and "evasive steering". I turned those features on the other day but haven't had it go off since.

The screen flashes red and an alarm goes off . I've had it happen a few times now in the past few months.

I didn't know you had to turn them on. I agree it makes loud warning and didn't see how it could have stopped in time had I not braked.

I thought mine didn't even work since even on high sensitivity it hadn't triggered dating back to January, but it did go off yesterday like others said it mutes audio blinks cluster red with warning sound. Whether or not it would have stopped on its own I can't say for sure I braked normally myself.

Others have covered the way it works when it warns you. To answer you second question, all Mavericks have pedestrian recognition as well. So yes.

What's the clamp/unclamp time on the electric e-brake?

I had a person in front of me just stop out of the blue which required emergency braking. The entire dash section where the gauges are illuminated in red informing me of the emergency.
The wheels felt like they skidded however I am not sure. It did feel like the brakes didn’t apply evenly. Also the lane thing came into play so as I was attempting to do an emergency lane change the lane feature was fighting me to keep the truck where it was.
The entire moment was a little unsettling with all of the electronics felt like like it was working against me.

This was something I was curious about too. I have had the collision warning light come on. But no braking. Not sure of any safe way to test it.

Evasive steering won't happen for right turning in front of you with someone in your left side blind spot. Will not let you turn wheel to do it yourself! Locks all wheels and keeps truck in same direction. Couldn't hear alarm due to screaming spouse!

Not sure but I am guessing that computer is aiming for 4ft space.
