In my XLT Luxury Package, there's a button below the screen on far right that inexplicably has a hand on it. When activated it holds the vehicle until I got the gas, somewhat useful at stoplights and such.Auto hold function?

Incidents like that are why vehicles with push-button start will honk at you if you leave the vehicle running and get out (taking the key fob with you). That's also why the dial shifter will auto return to park if you open a door while in gear. Not necessarily related to automatically applying the parking brake.Yelchin, who played Chekov in the revamped sci-fi series, was fatally injured early Sunday by his Jeep Grand Cherokee, which rolled in reverse down his hillside home’s driveway, pinning him against a brick pillar and a metal security gate, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Ah the brake hold feature. I don’t trust that for a second. Convenient for drive thru’s but I still won’t count on it so I never use it. It’s Park or my foot on the brake. In my XLT Luxury Package, there's a button below the screen on far right that inexplicably has a hand on it. You're annoyed that it's automatic, but it auto applies and disengages, which makes it completely passive.Yea I guess I need to get into the habit of hitting the parking brake after I turn off the auto start/stop button. It just annoys me that it applies automatically. I have no problem using it just the auto apply
It's an awesome feature when held up in a construction zone for me. No brainfarts to accidentally creep ahead while waiting. I agree...I mean you're driving, so what is it you need to do with you feet that you can't hold the brake while stopped.Ah the brake hold feature. I don’t trust that for a second. Convenient for drive thru’s but I still won’t count on it so I never use it. It’s Park or my foot on the brake.
It's nice to be able to move them. The ABH isn't a "need" any more than having power windows or air conditioning.I agree...I mean you're driving, so what is it you need to do with you feet that you can't hold the brake while stopped.
