One day I tried to unlock the truck from the passenger door.
It wouldn't lock or unlock the truck.
The driver's side worked fine.
I made an appointment with Ford for the next day.
I tried it many times through the day and it didn't work.
I got in at night and noticed that none of the interior lights worked.

When I went to get in the next morning I tried the passenger door and it worked.
The interior lights didn't.

When I got to the dealer everything worked.
They said there were no codes.

It's been over a week and it hasn't happened again, but has anyone else experienced this, and do you know what it is/was?

Thank you.

12V battery is low.

Almost assured.

Do you use the Fordpass app?

Those battery saver functions start happening 1st to remove potential bigger drains on the battery, so it last until the truck is started again.

Eventually the battery will get low enough, Deep Sleep Mode is engaged and the modem is turned off after you park - which of course means remote access won't work - so you are informed of such in the app.

If you don't use the app - you won't get that confirmation.

From posts that have been made, it seems that passenger door sensor is disabled after the DSM is engaged, but perhaps it's before.

Anyway - it could remain in this state for a long time (I went 6 months thru the winter), until those battery saving functions don't work and indeed the battery is so low in charge it won't allow the hybrid to start.
Have a jump pack under the back seat for that day. To drive it to dealer.
Anyway - you can help others much easier/safer than a traditional jump from the truck.

Also, unless your dealer is just super friendly and nice to work with - I wouldn't even waste time yet going in.
They'll do the quick test on the battery - claim you need to drive it more - maybe charge it up - and send you on your way.
Sounds like they did charge it up - that was nice.

Not until the battery is at very low voltage, will they likely do the overnight test for possible warranty replacement.

That makes sense on a level, but confuses me as well.

I've already had the 12v battery replaced under warranty. I was getting battery saving messages on FordPass at that time. Not this time.

Notifications for FordPass are turned on on my phone and I didn't get any. Also, I would imagine that if DSM was engaged, there would be a maintenance code for it and the dealer told me there were no codes.

If it is the 12v battery, why did it fail all day long, then work first thing in the morning after a coldish night?

As I said, I can see this being the issue, but with many caveats.
I appreciate your input.

There are no codes for DSM.
Only the app alert if you are using it.
It's not an issue - it's a "feature" as called in the manual - to save the battery from getting worse.

DSM happens after the other battery saver functions happen - last resort.

Keep reading the forum posts for how many have had multiple batteries replaced under warranty.

Each of those "features" has a line when it's engaged.
12.1 V and below the battery saver functions happen to varying degrees depending on how low. Lights off sooner and sooner, ect.
So your drive must have bumped it up high enough the sensor was allowed to be enabled - but not the lights.
But it's still not so bad yet to engage DSM - 9.5 V, or below 50% SOC.

Do you lock the truck overnight?

Had this happened. Long Lewis Ford Hoover AL called out the 12 volt battery under rear seat. They replaced everything is working fine. I will be checking replacement and won't let it go as long as this time

Yes. I lock it every time I leave it. (Not there now, but grew up in NYC. :) )

Then that means every so often, the BMS is doing a test of the battery to relearn the SOC% value.
That value is used for the DSM decision, besides actual voltage.
So when you receive the notice on your Fordpass that DSM is engaged, or remote is disabled until you drive it - then you are getting closer to having a battery test as bad per Ford and get another warranty replacement.

At least now - you'll get a better AGM battery.

So again - unless your dealer is nice, you'll probably be dealing with the aggravation of the battery saver functions until the battery is bad enough.

Just got an alert today on our 24. That was after after being parked overnight. Driven 3 hrs before parking. Went out and it started with no issues and app cleared right away just after letting it run for 15 seconds. Odd.

Not at all odd when you understand what it's doing.

Yes, I have experienced the passenger door lock and the interior lights problem many times. I bought a hybrid two years and 12,000 miles ago and just had the 4th 12v battery replaced today. In those two years I have kept records of the resting voltage and have shown them to the dealer explaining that the batteries drain to about 30% to 50% nightly. The pickup never failed to start, but many times no interior lights or passenger door handle locks. Over time I advised the dealer something is draining the batteries and the Maverick forum suggests installing an AGM battery for one possible fix. Finally today I got them to do some research and they found a bulletin from Ford to reset the air conditioner module and also when they called Ford today the dealer was told by Ford that the pickup came with the wrong battery and the replacement batteries were the wrong batteries for the hybrid Maverick. What do you know, they finally put an AGM battery in today and I am hopeful the problem will be resolved. I am going to keep taking records and if the battery drain issue isn't resolved try the lemon law. Good luck!!

I bought my Maverick in January. In June my Phone app started getting disabled. They said it was a battery issue and there was a recall for it. I don't remember the exact reason, but they ultimately replaced the A/C because it didn't work after they did what they did, so I'm thinking it was he A/C module. It's interesting/odd/annoying that your dealer didn't know about that recall earlier.

Hope they read the correct memo.

Not AC module reset - ACCM software update.
Kinda big difference there!

If you were getting that much drain that could be the issue.
And having an AGM won't help that.
(actually, having an AGM won't help the undercharging issue either, eventually)

You didn't state what it drained from down to stated levels - 35 to 30% or 55 to 50% isn't that much, since the turn-off voltage is inflated as an invalid reading.
And where is that reading coming from?
