I installed the LUND myself but I like this one. Brand and link please.
It‘s the Lund Aeroskin II that is on the Ford Accessories page. Sorry I don’t have the link, I searched and it didn’t come up. I guess it’s like all the other Mav accessories, not available.

Here is my textured one, yes the hood shakes a little but I am ok with it. Most of my driving is at night so I don’t see the shake. 😂.

Really like how it matches the texture and look of the XL grille.

Maybe I should buy another one to have for when this one needs replaced if they end up discontinuing it.

Did you install it yourself? It looks awesome on your truck. I bought one for my yet-to-be-built VB XLT Hybrid from Ford Parts, before the beginning of the year. I took mine out of the plastic and began cleaning up that sharp molded edge after reading about people cutting their fingers while lifting up the hood. Old machinist habits die hard.

How about breaking that sharp edge with a fine file or sandpaper? Before installing of course.
After insulation might try putting tape with easy release glue on painted edge to protect paint from the file/sandpaper?

Looks great except one thing bothers me a bit. The front-most edge of the hood is visible. I do plan on getting one after I get my Maverick.

I think I will have to cover the exposed edge by stretching a run of black electrical tape across it. Stretched just right it should curl under the hood edge nice.
He probably placed it a little too high. Probably should be placed snug to edge and you wont have any paint exposure issues

Yes I did, it was easy to install and hind sight I should have filed down the sharp edge but I was pressed for time as it was cold and I was at work. Did not want to explain to the BC why the fire engine was outside and my truck was in the bay.

I like the looks of these accessories but I've never bought a "bug deflector" for any of my previous trucks because they tend to mess with the wiper fluid spray pattern. This one the Op shows doesn't affect the airflow over the hood and is more to my liking. I might pick one up for my Maverick when (if) it comes in.

Price is a bit lower at FordPartsOnSale site - Deflector VNZ6Z-16C900-A | FordPartsOnSale.com

It be cool if it resembled the maverick horns going out to the corners like you say, lol

sure it doesn’t affect airflow but it also doesn’t stop bugs. The older style
used to stick up high, affect airflow and effectively intercept bugs.

now they are aerodynamic, do nothing for bugs but apparently stop chips on the hood edge. I think more for looks at this point.

I was def not impressed with the finish quality of said deflector. Back in October it was installed mostly for protection of the butter soft paint. I was torn between the sheen of the bulge version and shape of this one. That was resolved last weekend when I wrapped it satin black. I think I like the deflector result better than my hood. 🥴 :ROFLMAO:

Maybe someone will come up with a wrap for either style that incorporates an unobtrusive MAVERICK in reverse, kind of like the ambulances have.

Looks great and an inexpensive way to avoid chipping your hood edge. Thanks for the link. I tried to order, but apparently, Ford will not ship that product to CA or NV. No reason given. Anyone else have the same problem?
Update: Pays to read the rest of the thread. Discovered another deflector for the Maverick and they will ship to CA. About the same price, too. One more reason for joining this club, right?

I've got one on my truck too, dealer installed. It protects the front edge from stone chip damage. The hoods are aluminium aren't they? Bet they dent easily

I am uncertain about the hoods being aluminum, but presuming they are, gotta treat them with kid gloves. Took delivery of a 2019 Fiat 124 Spider roadster in Jan 2020. On its first day in the garage, I leaned on the hood with my hand while cleaning it and put a depression dent in it. Called the dentless repair guy who worked for 2 hours getting the dent out (which included heating the hood with a blowtorch). That's how I found out (the hard way) that it was aluminum.

Since you had a question mark at the end of your post, I thought I should answer. Do your best to protect your painted surfaces, I don't have any suggestions for you there. However, when you do start sanding/filing, use a light touch and take your time. Best of luck, you can do it.
