Well, I hate to say it but after reading through that light reading and looking at my 2022, it sure seems like you don’t have enough wires in that connector to be the factory wiring. I say, chase the harness a bit and see where it goes. My OBD connector has quite a few more wires than yours and has a very short run to the factory harness where it is taped in.
Oops - false alarm. I pulled my OBD port from its bracket & there are plenty of wires attached. And has a short run to the factory harness. Not sure what my previous picture was…just stuck my phone under the dash and clicked.

I think my OBD port is OEM with the normal GPS tracking they build into the Ford Pass App. Sorry to make you crouch under your dash - hopefully no sore back tomorrow!

Guess I need to “debug” my BlueDriver OBD reader.

Thanks again, Gary aka “Chops”

Yeah, the trackers are usually fairly obvious if you look up under there. Most times its plugged in behind the obd port or the oem port is tucked up above a fake pass through one.

I live only 200 miles from the Hermosillo Factory - last thing I need is a “rival” cartel to use the GPS tracker to hunt me down 💀!
You never do know with GM . . .

😜

Ok, just “alfalfa” for my “horses”.
Makes sense now.
They prefer beer. And whiskey for my men!

I really do like the FordPass app, I don’t care about the truck being tracked by Ford, the convenience of the app is kind of handy and cool.
but DO make sure that you've turned off the "share driving data with insurance companies" setting. (yes, that's real; no, this isn't a joke).

If you're concerned about GPS tracking you might want to also
smash your phone, or at least leave it at home.
The GPS on my phone is helpful to me & useful. GPS on my Maverick is redundant and serves me no benefit.

My OP concern was that a “tracking device” was affecting my BlueDriver OBD reader. Turned out I was wrong - my OBD port is normal Ford OEM.

Ford uses GPS tracking for Ford Pass etc. I did not sign up for Ford Pass for many reasons.

That said, Ford still GPS tracks my Maverick anyway. Although my contract with Ford prohibits them from using the data. The finance guy had to get the finance director because I said “no” on all the tracking approvals. Finance Director had the password to let me escape “untracked”.

Since I purchased my Maverick over a month ago - I have not received even one email or text or robo call etc from Ford. That is because I did not sign any of their data sharing & privacy stuff:)

I’m baffled that folks let Ford “update” their Mavericks without knowing what is being “updated” and requesting approval.

It is my understanding that the Ford Pass App uses GPS data. Main reason I left the Ford Dealership before they set it up for me:) They were disappointed.
Even if you use FordPass, you can opt out of location and insurance data tracking.

Never gotten any either in over 1 yr.

Have gotten Email from dealership after work is done, asking to rate them.

Now, after I created my online Ford account for the truck, I did find any sharing/notification options and disabled them all, as part of habit.
Perhaps that saved me since I didn't modify contract signed.

How am I supposed to smuggle folks & dope from Mexico with a GPS Tracker from Ford Corp?
(Just kidding Grok, Chatetc…geez when are guys going to start recognizing humor/sarcasm).

But seriously - does my 25 Lobo have a GPS Tracker? I ask because my BlueDriver code reader won’t read right & my OBD port seems cheesy & aftermarket.

Anyway, is there a thread on removing the tracker somewhere on the forum? Thanks!
Pull fuse 11/12 from the passengers fuse box

Your Mav may very well have an aftermarket tracker installed in it.
Mine did. But it doesn’t anymore.
A month after buying my Mav, I turned a corner a little faster than usual and something hit me on the left foot. When I looked down, there was a GPS unit about the size of an iphone, hanging from my OBD2 port. I unhooked it. It was poorly taped above the port. I looked the company up and it seems that they work a deal with the dealership and install them for almost nothing. It allows the dealership to do an easy inventory of units on their lot. Ideally, the vehicle buyer will continue the service by paying a monthly fee to help with theft recovery. I did not subscribe. The company’s name is Spireon. They bought out LoJack.

I tossed mine in the trash. I suggest you do the same if you are planning to run “product” back from Mexico, my friend.

It’s already been covered by previous posters, but I’ll reiterate; 3rd party gps tracker like LoJack / Spireon is independant of, and in addition to the Ford telematics data.

So you may need to remove the ODB dongle, then pull fuse #11 in the passenger footwell.

I noted a few posts up that I was mistaken and have the OEM OBD port fyi. Problem is with my BlueDriver OBD reader….

I have a “find my car” on my iPhone. Unfortunately, when parking in a multistory garage it will not indicate which floor. I walk to my “spot” to find it empty or another car there. At least I know I’m over or under my vehicle!

Can you post a pic of where in the Ford Pass you can disable insurance data sharing?
@BlueSpec1 got it.

I just remember that it was easy to find, knowing that it was there.

I want to say that it came off by default, but I'm really not sure.

About the only place that I trust with that kind of data is apple. not because I think it's benevolent, but rather because they've realized that privacy is a strong marketing tool, and have the tech and lawyers to back this up. (ok, so does google, but they havent' taken that position, but rather are in the business of selling information about you. Besides, they've been hacked for data many times more often than apple)

It must have been off by default. I checked mine tonight.
a wise move--cadillac is currently dealing with litigation over it. Without permission, GM sold acceleration and other data to brokers, and folks got hit with stiff insurance hikes (as if anyone would buy a Cadillac V to drive mildly . . .)
