Silly question- On the Eco/Lariat with Lux- Window sticker says Electronic brake boost- Is that something different than the trailer brake controller ?
Yes. It's an electric instead of vacuum brake booster needed to facilitate the ACC w/ Stop & Go.

I, too, have started to experience rake issues on my 2022 Maverick XL Ecoboost. They started acting funny a couple weeks ago and over the course of the last 2 weeks have started to shudder like a b@st@rd even when breaking from slow speeds. I really don't think they are going to last much longer and they have started squeaking and chirping. I have 28,000 miles on the poor, old gal. Did they find a solution for your issue?

I have this too I think - at low speeds when I have my window open I can hear a soft grinding noise, just brakes gliding on rotors I think but I don't think it is anything serious.

If its not a Grinding noise i wouldn't worried about it. Just raise the volume of the radio lol 😆. But if you still have warranty just take it to a dealer they should help you as long you dont pass bumper to bumper warranty.

I ended up getting rid of the truck , they never did get the brakes fixed just put grease on them to quiet them down and that didn’t last , the truck had several other issues as well , started smelling like rotten eggs inside the cab and other things that were probably all minor but put them all together and it was time for it to go, I traded for a 23 Ranger and heck the brakes are so spongy I’m afraid I’m gonna crash at times , I haven’t had them looked at yet but sounds like ford is having sone quality issues

That's just how the Ranger brakes are. Yes, they're very spongy.

Hey, Jenny! I can take a closer look into your brake concerns. Can you send us a direct message with your VIN and the dealership name/location?

Probably not the same thing as people here are experiencing but I had a scraping noise come from one of the rear wheels on my 2019 F150 after I had brought it in for oil change and tire rotation.
Turns out one of the “dust shields “ had gotten just slightly bent when they took the tire off and it was just barely contacting the back side of the rotor.
Very thin metal, service writer said sometimes they have to beat on the steel rims from behind when they rotate the tires. They just bent it back a little away from the rotor and all was good.

all fords come with metallic brake pads. extremely bad choice when just about every other company has ceramic pads. metallics squeal, have lots of brake dust, and dont last as long. very first thing i did was toss those crap pads in the trash. Ford pull your heads out your butt.

This. Cheap pads certainly doesn't help. I just bought some from Rock Auto:

Rock Auto Brake Pad's for Mavericks

I got the Z23 "Premium" ones from Power Stop. Never buy the cheap ones, and don't waste your money on the most expensive ones. Middle of the line brake pads always seem to be the best lol.

Fords and many others come with semi-metallic which is not "cheaper". Yes, they cause more dust and they wear faster, but they also provide stronger initial braking. Its a trade off. I prefer a good initial grab on my brakes for emergency situations and would gladly replace the brakes 10k miles sooner and have to clean brake dust for that safety factor. Brakes are cheap to replace on these, especially if you DIY.

Factory brake pads are indeed cheaper than mid level ones from any auto parts store.

My brakes have started making grinding and squeaking noises now. ALso kind of Grabby. XLT, FX4, Eco about 16,000 miles.

Did you notice a reduction in brake dust? OEMs seem to have an excessive amount.
