Did you feel like the Kilmat made any noticeable difference?
Seems to help a little. I also had a rattle in my driver door when I would go past about 12 on the volume and it got rid of that.

Just got done with this install as outlined by the OP.
One thing that I noticed is the triangle trim attached to the door panel comes off with the panel.
When attaching it back, noticed the top flat tab looks ripped out of its slot and goes back in loosely.
It does not look like it can be removed without ripping it out, so may need 3M double sided tape if it gets looser.

I had the same thing, but the rubber piece will come out. Treat like one of plastic clips when you try to remove it.

Did you replace the rears?
No. I haven’t I have it crossed over all the way to the front. The passengers in the back had complained about it being too loud. The positioning of the speaker does look like It blasts into their eardrums lol.

This upgrade is perfect. Especially for barely over 100$. The only thing I did was take a razor and trim the foam peice on the door speakers in half so if it fit nicer. Should be the first upgrade for people that don't have the B and O upgrade.

Question / update for those that have done this - does it help with sound during phone calls?

I'm def not an audiophile and embrace frugality (why replace something that isn't broken, for the most part) but I noticed that audio quality on phone calls was pretty bad.

Also are there any newer/other options for drop-in / plug and play front speakers? (getting lazy in my middle-age lol)

Hi everyone. Brand new to the site. Just purchased a 2024 Maverick XLT in Hot Pepper Red with Luxury Package and Co-Pilot 360. Thanks to everyone, especially Stock 411 for the great information and the links to the YouTube videos. Just installed the tweeters today - super easy. Will do the front door speakers tomorrow. I probably would not have tried to install without all the helpful information here including the plug and play.
