I have this same Fitcamx brand on my son's Corolla. That install was even easier since there was a plug that you tap into right at the base of the rear view mirror. If you have rain sensors on your Maverick, it is the same, you won't have to route any wires. It will piggyback on the rain sensor plug.

I don't have have rain sensors so I did have to route to my fuse box. It was still pretty easy.

The camera I replaced used the cigarette lighter. Connecting to fuse means no wires dangling.

I imagine that you reclaimed some of the obstructed forward view under the mirror with this camera mount, since it is probably "behind" the mirror from the driver's POV in this position.

As far as I know there is no rain sensor in the Maverick which is why the FITCAMX has to be hard wired to either the OBD port of fuse box. FITCAMX doesn’t have a cigarette lighter plug wire adapter and you can’t use a regular usb cable as the plug into the camera is a proprietary type of plug.

Just wired mine (70mai) and the self dimming mirror to the fuse box down behind the A pillar to behind the glove box. Camera is hidden from view by the mirror. I can just see the camera led to know it's recording. I would have used the lights above the mirror but I need both ignition power and full time power as mine senses vibration and will start recording when the truck is off.

The rain sensor kit will have a jack to piggyback off your rain sensor jack.

Yup but the Maverick itself doesn’t have a rain sensor. The FITCAMX kit is based on the Ford Escape which does have a rain sensor but the camera itself fits the Maverick

That looks real good! Looks OEM in my opinion. I might have to ditch my Garmin dashcam and go with Fitcamx. I'm a big fan of the factory look. Great job on the installation.

I like the hidden look. Especially considering those who take their vehicles to dealerships for services and such... it will keep the dishonest employees from unplugging dashcam's for those that don't come with brackets to disable unplugging easily. Out of sight, out of mind. But I'd never get anything less than a 2 way camera at minimum now days.
