I am trying to remove the stock down pipe. I have removed the top two nuts from the down pipe but the bottom one is giving me a fit trying to get to it. Any body done one that could give any information on how and what they used to remove it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks...

OK. I'll go first with the questions.
What is a stock down pipe?
What's the point of removing it?
Is it not "down" perfectly well enough?
Is the current "down pipe" inadequate to the task?
Are you replacing it with a better "down pipe"?

Well. Still don't know what this down pipe is.
However; I will suggest that if you're having trouble getting your nuts off, just remove/cut/unbolt whatever is in the way - you can replace/weld/bolt it back when you're done and this down pipe thing meets your standards.
Or you could ask a FORD mechanic....

I'm confused, are you questioning "down pipe?" because its actually spelled "downpipe?"

That's the way the OP spells it. I'm just playing along.
Still don't know what it is, but the OP wants more Hp, and that appears to be the way to get it.
Well at least until his ECU compensates and it all goes back to baseline.

Try to contact Ivan with fast mavericks , he said it was a pain for the one .
When I get my pipe I’ll let you know , but I also dropped my whole front subframe 3” so I have a TON of room around the downpipe and turbo.
I can easily stick both arms and hands onto the turbo no problem now.
May be a solution for an easy install . Biggest issue to do that is disconnecting steering shaft for the drop (right behind brake pedal)

So the guy who doesn't know how to check a dipstick is messing with someone who wants to make their truck faster?

Downpipe is part of the Turbo system, not to worry on Hybrids

Yep. But I now know how to run the hybrid's engine for a bit after an oil change to verify the level is correct.
That was my goal.
And the OP never mentioned going faster, only more HP. There are many ways to be faster and many ways to be quicker.

Oh. OK. Thanks.

The only way I was able to get the bottom bolt was with a ratcheting wrench about 1/16 of a turn at a time. It was pretty excruciating.

The third 15mm nut closest to the block is a bitch. Like mentioned, a ratcheting 15mm wrench will get the job done on the first 2 but the 3rd will literally be one baby turn at a time. Obviously it helps to remove the intake for too access, and remove the 02 sensors. You’ll make your like easier if you take a cut off wheel or sawzall and cut off the lower OEM bracket that supports the cat. It’s not needed with an aftermarket downpipe as it weighs much less.

On the bright side, once out, the new downpipe will be much easier to remove and install if needed.
