Probably this. Thanks.@Area51BS
I had the same problem. Couldn't figure out why, until someone on this forum mentioned:
Disable "mislock chirp". It is in the vehicle settings menu on the gauge cluster. (Menu->Vehicle->Locks)
So:
It appears the problem is that, usually when in a hurry, when putting your hand behind the inside door handle you end up accidentally tapping the lock button (which is right behind the handle = not great design), all while opening the door. The truck sees this as a "mislock" and honks twice to warn you.
When you disable that setting, this seemingly random honk upon exit goes away, so ultimately it wasn't random after all!
Cheers!

HOW DOES THE REAR OCCUPANT ALERT SYSTEM WORKI have the same issue on a 23 Lariat with all updates done. I'm positive that it has nothing to do with where your fingers are or where your keys are as you open the door. I have a suspicion that it is somehow determining that you need to check the back seat for a child or something similar, but it only happens randomly. Having a notice come up on the dash explaining what the potential issue is would be really helpful.

Mislock is when a door, hood, or tailgate really isn't closed, and you go for a lock.@Area51BS
