There are variations between XLT and Lariat Door mount Mirrors and their prices vary widely. Has anyone purchased a mirror to understand the level of disassembly of the mirror and its constituent parts allow? I have a Lariat and a crack in the very basic element but must buy an integrated assembly part for over $1000 to replace a cracked plastic element I see common on non-Lariat model mirrors. I am wondering if I can remove my mirror and buy the XLT Mirror at the lesser price and disassemble and re-assemble, replacing only the cracked plastic element and be good to go - after a dealer recalibration.

Don't know about the mirrors and their housings, but the blind spot sensors are located behind the rear bumper. I would not see a reason to recalibrate.

Have you thought about using a commercial quality glue? Oh, I didn't see @Aleks recommendation when I posted this. I like his idea better.

But..... It won't fit a 25
I don't know if the mirror mounts on the 2025 are in fact different from earlier years (or if the Amazon listing simply hasn't been updated), but they sure look alike in the pictures. If I were in the OP's situation I'd probably risk $16 to find out if they work.

Good point. Returns are easy with Amazon.

see if you can close the unit with a clamp. If you can then use CA glue (medium) . use just enough
to full in the gap. use clamp to squeeze close. you can also use a CA accelerator. it will harden in seconds

If you have any OCD/perfectionist in you like I do, you will likely wind up replacing it like I did. You cracked the bottom so you will be buying the whole assembly like I did when the wall got in the way backing up and I was looking at the camera view instead. You did not crack the to which I believe was less than $100. I did get the whole assembly for $650 at the dealer and I felt like I was raped. They wanted another $90 to put it on. I made a good call there and did it my self, took all of to minutes. Shop around once you have the part number!

Ouch and good luck!
