I’m not sure I will use it but perhaps twice a year, the Fourth of July and Veterans’ Day. I now have a means to mount a flag on my Maverick’s tailgate. Other mounts I have seen commonly clamp to the truck bed's side rail and interfere with a bed cover. This one extends from the side of the tailgate opening rearward without interfering with closing the tailgate. Because I’m a member of Amazon’s customer blind review program, the cost to me for this flag mount was only about $7.00. That made it hard to pass by.

After learning about the experience others have had with this product, I thought it was incumbent upon me to as the OP to offer additional information. My initial favorable comments were based upon my inspection out of the box and installation of the product. My actual flag waving testing was limited to a one-man parade around the block and neighborhood residential streets. I wasn’t confident that an extended wooden flag pole with a 3’x5’ flag attached wouldn’t snap while driving. That didn’t happen at appropriate residential speeds.

On Amazon, other purchasers have stated that at highway speeds, the flag remained secure In the holder. Unfortunately, the flag whipping in the wind would also cause the metal bracket that extends out behind the tailgate to twist and bend with the possibility of scratching the vehicle.. I would personally regret that my positive review could have motivated another Maverick owner to make a purchase and then experienced damage to their truck. I will be taking appropriate caution to limit my use and speed to avoid damaging my own Maverick.
