Door Locks Automatically

I just made a video of my 2024 Maverick door locking issue. After turning car off but leaving keys in ignition to grab something, exit vehicle, and 45 seconds after door closes a couple under dash dash servos can be heard engaging and then a click from drivers door. Just sent it to Ford. They had already confirmed with our dealer that they are aware of the problem, it is software related, no hardware or wiring issue is info, and they are working on it.

I still firmly believe it does happen both ways. The majority of accidental lock outs are probably operator error, I’ve done it myself. On the other hand, you can’t rule out the computer arbitrarily saying “lock the door”.

I find it amusing that Not One instance of automatic locking has been recorded or honestly replicated.
Meaning the driver's door is clearly shown unlocked when closed.
Both remotes are out and in plain view.

If you get out of the car with the key left in the ignition (in the most recent case, with the engine running), the driver’s door may lock by itself. Fortunately, the other doors do not lock, so I’ve always been able to get back in. It is alarming each time, but it is a nuisance more than anything. It has happened to me twice.

The fact that ALL the other doors are unlocked confirms to me, you unknowingly locked the drivers door yourself.

Because, that is NOT what I see. The driver’s door is locked exclusively and ALL the other doors are open. I do not even know how to make that happen from the button on the door.

Here's how it happens.

Not one person who is alleged this happening has been able to honestly video it and post it.

Your opinion is simply incorrect. This horse has been beat into pulp and soaked into the dirt at this point.
Accept that the inside door handle is a poor design and you're locking the door while opening it.

Actually - leave your key in ignition truck running, open door - do indeed hit the Lock button.
You'll see why it can NOT be the button.

This is one everyone should test on their own.
Just to get on the same page.
Even keyless entry has same reaction if fob left in truck.
Now - what I do need to test - is key in ignition, merely inserted - enough?

I also have the alert set so that there is a horn beep if the keys are in the vehicle.

This is what happens when your key is in the ignition and it is turned on and you hit the lock BUTTON. DOUBLE HORN BEEP.
You don't have to close the door

THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU ACCIDENTALLY PUSH THE LOCK LEVER AND CLOSE THE DOOR.
The driver's door is locked and most likely all the other doors are unlocked.
