At first my pick up was smelling like any new cars but now it just stinks and I have no idea why.
this morning put mu wife ionizer in it to see of it would make any difference.
Any idea?

There was an issue with some mavericks leaking water into the front passenger footwell. I'd check yours.

If you indeed have a Lariat it could be your seats ​

Like DJT stated, mine smelled like cow poop for the first week or so.
Having grown up as a ranch kid and pushing cattle on feed lots, I found it somewhat homey.

Just throw you a potpourri bag under the seat and keep the windows down and the offending odor will be gone before you know it. My guess is that it comes from the pleather seats.

When I took delivery of my 23 hybrid it smelled like a farmer's barn for the first year.

Same here with my '24 Lariat. Reminiscent of a cattle yard odor. I got used to it, but it's not like the typical new car smell. That said, I still love my Mav.

My 2024 Lariat, the wifey told me mine spelled like "cow poop" instead of new car smell... Smelled new to me tho...

My Wife said the exact same thing!!!!! I lost my sense of smell during Deployments to the Middle East.

While I do kid, this is based on a personal true story

I'm spinning off topic, but your taco story triggered a memory from the 1980s...

In my USAF days we stored our helmets in cloth bags. When not flying the bags were stored in lockers in life support. So one Monday I get called into life support by a very annoyed senior NCO. He asks me if I ever take a shower, which is something an NCO doesn't usually ask an officer. I'm curious where this is going, so he shows me an army ant trail (Tucson AZ) into the life support room, leading to my helmet locker.

Well long story short, C-130 flight crew often stashes a banana or apple in the helmet bag. I'd forgotten one, and it went rancid over the weekend, and the ants found it. There was a 200 meter long ant trail leading into the squadron bunker, down the hall, into life support, and into my locker.

After that my squadron nickname was "Banana Man". Oh, and that was $1,000 of taxpayer money down the trash chute, as a custom flight helmet and oxygen mask had to be trashed.

My 2024 Lariat Ecoboost smelled like mildew for the first couple of months but eventually went away.

back in the 70's My fraternity brothers pranked a Brother on his Birthday. We stuffed his A/C vents with Computer Punch Card Chads and put some Limburger Cheese under the passenger seat. It took weeks to get rid of the Chads. His Girlfriend complained of the smell and wouldn't ride in his car for weeks. Oh he said it was the best prank but his girlfriend gave us hell for a very long time. They are Still Married and it has become a memory that gets revisited. His wife reminds me that Paybacks are Hell.

MAN!!!! Now I am thinking back to my 1,700 mile drive home from the dealer and remembering that whenever I stopped, it smelled like a cattle yard. At my hotels, at the gas station, etc... I wonder if this is related! But I did not really smell it INSIDE. Just outside.
